Someone Who takes their life, does so because of extremely bad mental health
A public figure goes into their profession KNOWING the pros and cons of living in the public eye.
and unfortunately Caroline had a taste of both.
its a pity she didn’t get help, it’s a pity she couldn’t save herself, I won’t even blame her family and friends.
nobody is to blame, it’s just a shit situation.

I defintely think it’s a combination of mental health and drug taking. Along with the fact that she’s been caught abusing her bf and it’s not been swept under the rug. These management agencies should be held accountable for being “yes” people. You can’t shelter “celebrities” from themselves. Eventually it catches up with them and then they can’t cope

Im not sure how much longer the show can continue? There is something quite fundamentally wrong with it, Big Brother ran for years and nothing like this ever happened. The brand seems tainted now.

No, we haven’t seen the body cam footage. But the CPS has, and has enough evidence to take it to court even without her boyfriends statement as a victim. Speaks volumes if you ask me.

Having previously worked in the police, being able to produce enough evidence for the CPS to prosecute in domestic assaults was always a difficult one. Lots of he said/did, she said/did and with no impartial witnesses, CCTV etc, is a tricky case to prove. Even more so when the victim states they do not wish to prosecute. This is why I believe the CPS believe they have enough evidence to push for a prosecution. Although it shouldn't, it comes down to picking and choosing the cases they believe have a higher chance of winning. (In an ideal world, best solution would always be to take the case to court and let them decide, however purse strings are tight,
hence why they only take on cases they believe they can win).

Its just such a shame. A toxic relationship, possible drink/drugs issues and could see no way out. Horrendous. However, everybody jumping on the "be kind" bandwagon need to be careful. If the tables were turned and it was caroline that called the police on her boyfriend for assault, would everyone be saying "be kind" about him??

This sickens me. She is a nasty piece of work. She's manipulated him into think she needs protecting and is vulnerable.
I have seen all over social media that she must be mentally unwell, blah blah blah. You never ever heard that about men when they do something like this. The inequality in the situation is fucking disgusting. Females can abuse men just like men abuse females. One does not need to be mentally unwell, one can just be a abusive cunt.

I don't feel comfortable making assumptions on what she's done, what he's done, what the press have done. Bottom line for me is that a human being has felt so low in their life that they couldn't reach out + took the decision to end it.
For me this is absolutely tragic + I really feel for those left behind who are likely trying to come to terms with the news right now.

If this was a man who was awaiting trial for assaulting his girlfriend/wife, and he took his own life, people would be saying that he was the world's biggest scumbag. I’m sorry but most of this is factually incorrect. You cannot force a victim to behave a certain way. This is a victimless prosecution & he can change his version of events as he likes.
as for any potential self-harm for her-that would be for the defence to produce as a defence/mitigation.Any medical treatment for her following arrest will be part of the custody record as part of police’s duty to ensure her wellbeing whilst in custody. However it won’t be for the prosecution to disclose as part of their case.
There is a much higher threshold for sectioning than this. People attend A&E every day with suicide/self harm attempts much worse than this & are just sent away. The NHS is quite stretched in case u hadnt noticed. Also are you aware what sectioning means legally?

Totally agree. To get somebody sectioned is so hard. You need an AMPH, seen 2 drs within 5 days and proof of lack of capacity and a mental health diagnosis. I stopped taking my medication once and sprung into mania and then psychosis. It took 3 weeks to section me and that was after chasing the post man down the road with a knife, didn’t eat for weeks as I thought everybody was trying to poison me, screaming at people in Asda, spending 2 grand on trainers, thinking I had super powers and knew where maddy mccan was, flashing my tits at the neighbours and found hanging in the woods and being cut down. Obviously I am absolutely fine now because I’m on medication. But my family spent weeks trying to get me on a section and I was fucking cookoo and nearly actually died. Sorry for TMI but this is the reality of sectioning. They have such strict rules as the person being sectioned not only cost the tax payer thousands, but can appeal the section dragging it through tribunal - which can imagine happens quite often as people that are very ill, often think they are not.

You are missing the point, if he was injured by her why then yes he was right to ring the cops for his own protection and get treated why is he NOW going around publicly saying that she didn't hurt him and claiming that she is the love of his life. If she attacked him and he thought she was going to murder him, should he not keep his mouth shut until the trial?

I think in most DV cases it's quite common for women to change their mind after an arrest, then it's "he didn't really mean it" "I got confused/the wrong end of the stick" etc because they've been manipulated and beaten down so often they think it's their fault and that they're ruining their partners lives! I've heard before "he didn't mean it, he loves me so much he just lost it and is going to get help".

So I think it's a case of that, but in this case it's a male victim instead of a woman.

Ant from Ant and Dec - caught drunk driving, nearly crashing into a family car, given private therapy & rehab etc. Has welcomed back to TV. Didn’t lose his job.

Caroline - caught up in a domestic violence scandal, banned from Speaking to him, he is trying to contact her through online platforms, struggling emotionally and physically, no support for her & loses her job.

Something doesn’t sit well with me here.

In my mind, if society at large is now advocating for men to be held to account for their abuses of power, sexual assaults and domestic assaults, then women need to hold themselves to the same standards we expect from men.

The press were right to report the story. She was a public figure and if she did truly beat her boyfriend with a lamp, it was an intentional act. Even if in the heat of the moment, it was a choice that was made. Whoever the victim of abuse like this, whatever gender, should be listened to and taken seriously.

Those who advocate for gender equality usually also participate in “cancel culture” and for me you cannot say on the one hand that you want gender equality when you also want to blame the press for how they reported this story.

Meant to add to my previous post, if we are to believe that she did not attack him then:

* He deliberately lied to the police/emergency services in order to get her arrested
* His lies have pretty much wrecked her reputation and career
* His lies have resulted in her being charged and put on trial for assault

I dont comment on forums normally, however the death of this talented, beautiful and troubled lady is tragic on so many levels. Vilified and unprotected for a mistake, where the likes of Ant and Philip Schofield have been excused and protected for what could be viewed as much worse.

RIP Caroline, deeply shocked and saddened to hear this heart breaking news. Thoughts to her family.

The only thing anyone can say for sure is that you need to be in a very dark place to take your own life. That’s it. That’s all anyone knows for definite. It’s very sad. Why it happened only Caroline knows. The best thing for people to do now instead of speculating why it happened is keep suicide awareness at the forefront of the conversation along with discussion about access to mental health services both NHS and privately.

Unfortunately the NHS in my experience are a waste of space regarding mental health. I have received more valid mental health Support from charity’s than what I have ever been offered by NHS.
