@Yel the DM slashed tyres...? That's outrageous.

I don't know Caroline's brother but my heart sank a little at the thought of the rest of the family. I had someone close commit suicide and it's extremely difficult to process, not sure you ever get your head around it

Her mum couldn’t have cared that much to leave her on her own so much. If she actually bothered to be there for her - maybe she wouldn’t have died. You’re being sucked in by a documentary that isn’t a police report.

I’m saying this as someone who has had 4 attempts and if anyone around me said they tried to help, I would be mortified! Where is the proof her mum helped?
If someone wants to kill themselves, they'll find a way. She could not have been babysat 24.7 and she must feel so much guilt

Did anyone find it strange in the CPS report they said they had a hypnotist send a letter to them to try and say that Caroline was having hypnotherapy to help her ‘trust more in relationships’ and that a prosecution could effect her treatment. Very bizarre. Did they seriously think the CPS would drop a case because someone is having hypnotherapy done? 😳 Her mum mentioned in the doc that the CPS ignored letters sent by medical professionals.. did her mum really think a hypnotherapist was going to get charges dropped? 🥴

People saying why didn’t they just get her sectioned obviously have no idea how difficult that is. In A&E I’ve seen many people in crisis, who have tried to take their own lives and 99% of them are sent home with community follow up (which is normally a phone call from a mental health worker).
I've been the family member desperately pleading for help in A&E to keep a relative alive because we were exhausted trying to manage it ourselves. Your post describes our experience. Although at least the Crisis Team did do a home visit couple of days later (they were very good).

As someone who has had a close young adult female family member sectioned in the last year, there are very few available beds and this can mean you may be moved to a different part of the country. They also do not keep you in until you are completely better, but until medication is at a level where you are a lower threat to yourself or others. They will send you home and the community team takes over.

I agree, I don’t think she handled the situation with Caroline well at all but she is a mum grieving her child and now she has lost two in the same way. It doesn’t bare thinking about. I really hope she has a strong network around her as she will really need it.
Exactly. The thought of getting that call...again. It makes me feel sick. The poor woman.

I don’t find Lewis particularly likable or anything but he doesn’t have to be. He is guilty of being assaulted in his sleep and phoning the police in a moment of panic and concern and then regretting it and not cooperating. Why shouldn’t be come out now and have his say when he’s the one being abused and targeted and everyone is acting like Caroline was the victim and he the perp
There's a thread on him and it's good. Have a read. It paints him in an awful light. Apparently someone knows of him and he was a scrounger. Caroline was letting him live in her house and gave him loads of money. Apparently he was manipulative and when he rang 999 the night he was hit by her,he had said to her that he was going to ruin her. There's more to it but have a read of the thread.

So much to unpack here. Thanks for sharing. Andrew Brady went on to serve time for harassing that Dan Wootton, not sure if he’s still serving that time.
Andrew seems so odd because they mention at one point in the documentary that he went from posting an NDA an saying abuse has no gender when she was first arrested to then hitting out at the media when she died?

This is what I don’t understand when I worked in supported housing and someone tried to commit suicide they were automatically taken to a secure unit at the local hospital and assessed.
The threshold is wildly high in some trusts now unfortunately. The last one i worked in during covid it had risen to 3 'credible' attempts before being sectioned, and someone phoning the crisis line was looking at weeks for a virtual app/phone call.

If Caroline Flack had been your daughter. Your absolute pride and joy. Your world. Or your best friend who you loved more than anything in the world and had cut her manipulative partner on the head and then ended her life over the guilt of the assault (I'm assuming) then would you still be saying oh well she did abuse him though. I dont think so but it's easy for us public to see it as black and white because we hold no emotional connection to her. All I am saying is this.

The police can only ask you to take a drug test if a crime is suspected or you are a threat to public safety. They can't just ask anyone to take one. The police have to follow exceptionally strict procedures as has been said. It's not a free for all here.

Perhaps they did of course, but I’m surprised those around didn’t use that as a way to convince her to get help - it sounds awful but saying to her “look if you check yourself in somewhere it will get you some sympathy” could well have helped convince her, and would have kept her safe. Hindsight is a powerful thing though I guess.

They'd only been together for 12 weeks. He hadn't been doing anything for months. Cheating on someone after 3 months is "don't let the door hit you on the way out" territory. If it winds you up to the point you're unable to stop yourself from beaning them while they sleep, you've got a problem that needs to be addressed.
We know from what her friends have said that she was a fragile soul and wasn't as strong as that to be that kind of woman who is like oh well...his loss. I get the impression she just wanted to be loved and settle down but always chose the wrong man. Doesn't help that they were younger than her. Yes she was deeply troubled and needed help. It's sad that now she ended her life over her actions. If it was my best friend, I'd be devastated, no matter what they had done.

100%. I don’t quite understand this “clear her name” crusade the family and friends are undertaking. It’s not like she was falsely accused of assaulting him. I understand in the eyes of the law, innocent until proven guilty but she admitted it.
I didn’t really feel the whole family were on board. It seemed to be mainly the mother, who asked permission of her surviving children if the minded her doing it. They seemed to be placating her rather than joining her on her campaign.
I think she is inviting a whole new world of pain pursuing this. We know the papers are run by sociopaths. I used to work for News UK. The yob she spoke to on the phone who hung up on her is atypical of the oiks you have working there. Those people were never likely to be a friend in Caroline’s time of need. They’re too cynical to let compassion stand in the way of capitalising off salacious gossip.

None of these examples had the other person unconscious though... imagine sleeping and being woken up like that

If they were asked to take a drug test that’s completely different and not implausible though.
What is implausible, is that they were at Shoreditch house until 2/3am in the morning not on drugs.
Again, why would they ask the victim of a crime to take a drug test? What reason would they have to ask this of the victim? How could it possibly be plausible?
