Yeah, like clockwork!
But he does make me laugh (Terry's Dad)

Yes, guilt, he was always down on Damon.

I remember quite a sad storyline coming down the line for Sammy, I liked the Rogers

I've missed a few weeks as I could not stand Pat, so I'm looking forward to my weekly treat again

It was amazing!! Lots of fond memories of watching it with my mum and grandma. I think STV player have that too, or they used to anyway
It really was an underestimated soap down here, I loved it, wasn't the bad boy Sneddon?
Think it's on STV, but I have so much on my watchlist!
Sorry brookie fans for going off topic:giggle:

I also loved the bit with Billy and the JCB and him standing in the bucket where it lifted him onto the roof of the extension

There is no way Health & Safety would let the real actor do that today

I started watching when it was first released but got a bit bored by it after the initial fascination with the old times etc. I might go back now the corkhills have arrived.

Sue and Ricky were absolutely brilliant right from the start though
I got bored and stopped watching too. I think it took a while for it to really get going with some juice storylines!

This week’s episodes were the last we saw of Bobby Grant. Apparently Ricky Tomlinson walked off set hence why there was no proper goodbye scene. We just saw Sheila seeing he had emptied the wardrobe of his clothes. The scene earlier in that episode where Barry is listening at his bedroom door to Bobby & Sheila arguing downstairs I suspect was just a audio replay of a previous argument between them hence why we didn’t actually see Bobby

Apparently Ricky was unhappy with the direction his character had gone over the last year or two
Can't blame Ricky, his character changed overnight and it wasn't nice to watch so can imagine to act it out was a tough slog.
I stole these from the Digital Spy Classic Brookside thread but the singer Sonia and one of the sisters from The Reynolds Girls (of one hit wonder ‘I’d Rather Jack’ fame), were passengers on the bus that Sheila & Kathy took on the way home from the nightclub

Sonia stood next to ‘Zak Dingle’ at the bus stop and sat in front of Sheila on the bus

and one of The Reynolds was sat behind Sheila. Here she is on the left behind the vacated seat when Sheila & Kathy get up to get off the bus

Good spot! I was engrossed in the bus scene but didn't notice the extras. Loving the humour that has been introduced in recent episodes 😀

I remember the nightclub bomb. Even at 11 years old I thought having a bomb 18 months after the gas explosion on one shopping parade was a bit far fetched 😂
Do you remember the hostage situation that went on? I remember thinking how far fetched that was 😂

I'm looking forward to rewatching, saving it for the weekend, used to love it!
I downloaded the STV player app to watch it on
That will be my Sunday viewing :)

I’m still behind so it’s maybe been addressed but I’m wondering if Annabelle is maybe menopausal? I guess back then it might have been a taboo that wasn’t to be discussed, and Brookie was setting its stall out as willing to go where other programmes wouldn’t?

I was speaking to a couple of women a few months ago about free period products being available and how good it is that speaking about it nowadays isn’t a big deal. But one of the women is in her 70s and she said she was horrified they were talking about it on Corrie, and she doesn’t think it’s right

I think Ricky Tomlinson played that beautifully! He's not cruel, he was angry and drunk and guilty and didn't know what to do with his feelings.

The new family - where is Gary "Growler" now? You'd never guess!

Very unfortunate name for that dog!
That was funny when the women were calling Billy, I'd have lost my shit to!
Did I miss something, the glass door got broken, then next Doreen was home, door mended, nothing said??
The next episode where Doreen was home was the following Monday’s episode. There would have been nearly a week’s gap between the previous episode on the Wednesday (I think) when the glass in the door was still broken to that first episode where we saw Doreen again on the Monday. So we have to assume that the door was mended in those in between days.

It was a bit daft doing it that way though as I was looking forward to seeing Doreen’s reaction

I’ve just picked it back up again and it’s New Year’s Eve where sammy is baby sitting. I think I’ve got a fair few episodes til I’m caught up. I can’t wait for the jordaches! Anyway, why do they all stand and wave at the end? I don’t remember that haha
They’ve done that for every end of year episode so far. I think they keep it up for a while to come
