So good. Brett is 56 years old and did not stop for 90 minutes. He jumped into the middle of the crowd and walked through for pretty much a whole song being manhandled and did not drop a note. He's incredible.

I saw Manics/Suede last month and as much as the Manics have my heart, I thought Suede blew them off the stage. Brett’s energy was insane.

So, his family don't know where he is or if he's still alive (as presumably they wouldn't get involved with things like this https://southwales.ac.uk/news/2023/...ister-to-speak-at-missing-persons-conference/ as it would be a huge slap in the face to other families in a similar situation), but the band do know he's alive and haven't told his family and are putting money in a bank account which would feasibly have to be in a different name as otherwise the investigation into his disappearance would have picked up on bank transactions? Is that what has happened?

Or the family also know (so his money goes into an account in his name) but are kidding on they don't but are giving interviews now and again and being linked to a missing persons charity?

and, to add to all of this accuracy, his family have legally declared him dead?! plus, the money in the bank account was never touched (the rest of the band donated it to charity in the end), so the whole thing makes no sense.

there’s always going to be rumours and such but there’s absolutely no way he would have done that to his parents and his sister (his sister’s genuine grief in the article linked above is so sad). his mother used to be interviewed in local press here a lot on anniversaries and such (i’m from south wales) before she passed away and, again, that grief was completely genuine.

You might not be lying, but someone else might have been, to you.

From the available evidence I know about (which isn't everything, obviously), Richey died somewhere on or near one of the Severn bridges, a week or so after leaving his flat. Dying by his own hand is a logical conclusion given his history of poor mental health, but he was underweight, frail and vulnerable and could have easily got into an accident as well. The tide at the mouth of the Severn is hellish.

I’ve been seeing suede live for nearly 30 years (I don’t know how, I’m only 21…) Head Music era Brett was awful, a real mess. He’s better now than those 1999 gigs. The biggest thing for me was he'd stopped taking his meds. That's going to mess you up. I don't know where the body is. But I've listened to all their albums. And sorry, Richey had to go.
Could have been better handled. Really could have been better.
But he's out. They went on to better music. And even if by a miracle he's still alive and returns. I don't think I could bring myself to read or listen to what he had to say.

So Oasis released their dates. Dublin hotels are such scummy guys. They are jacking up their prices for that weekend. I am going to try to hop across to Manchester or London instead, and I would expect I will not be the only Irish person to do that.

I went to see Rammstein in Dublin not long ago and we literally flew in and back out again in less than 24 hours because the hotels were ridiculously priced.

All the cities are doing it! Was going to take a punt on Cardiff and looked at even a basic travelodge - £400. Hard pass thanks. So sick of being ripped off for everything.

I'd have expected all places to do it. I always book free cancellation either as soon as dates are released or even just for rumoured dates. Did that for Taylor Swift but I'll probably just drive home after Oasis if I get tickets . Although I had seen I think possibly for F1 that the hotel someone booked was free cancellation expect for the specific date that the F1 was on so they were stuck with the hotel room

Off topic, but did you hear about the accusations about Rammstein‘s frontman? (Since I’m from Austria, and it was all over German and Austrian media, I don’t know about other countries‘ media landscape reporting this.) Don’t want to discuss here, if the band should be canceled, although I vote a strong YES. But I think people should definitely know.

Back to Oasis in that context: I sometimes wonder, since Britpop-Metoo exists, no one yet has accused the Gallaghers or other band members. Seem to be gentlemen then, which I very much appreciate. Even softboy Coxon is claimed to have had inappropriate relationships with far too young (grown ups, but still too young and vulnerable) fans.
