I can’t remember what it was called but I used to cover myself in an impulse spray that was in a dark coloured can with a butterfly on it if my memory serves correctly.
I wore so much you must have smelt me coming from 100 metres 😂

A whitey is the worst. Being drunk is the room spinning. A whitey is some evil entity holding you by the feet making YOU spin round the room 😂
My son in law threw a whitey whilst having a dance with his mother, at his wedding reception.
Part of me wanted him to chunder, ngl🤣
The whole room noticed it at the same time🙈🤣

Cheap night out as you would be legless after a bottle.
White lightening is what I regularly threw a whitey on...Good lord it was grim.
But cheap.
And surprisingly refreshing 🤔🤣

That bag was my schoolbag🤣Worn with one strap naturally.
I was 17 in 1997 and my shop of choice was the army and navy surplus store.
Flared cords/jeans-bottoms cut off for the fringe effect- band tees, 70’s adidas tees (worn tight), army shirts and docs/ campus runners.
Perfume was Tribe/Charlie Red/ Exclamation/Body Shop White Musk and CK One.
Hair was short. Very short.
I still wear CK one🙈🤣
And I miss Dewberry from the Bodyshop🥺

Quercus from Penhaligons smells like CKone but a bit more modern. It scratches that itch for me.

Fahrenheit was the smell of every boy I loved from 1994-2002.

I’m off to the shops to relive my cheap perfume era. So many memories
I tried to do this in the Body Shop a couple of weeks ago and was very disappointed. They used to have so many different options. The perfume I bought barely lasts half an hour on too.

I remember when ALL Impulse cans had butterflies on! Then sometime in the mid 90s they rebranded

Yes I’m thinking back to early 90’s so they probably all had butterflies! It was definitely a dark colour. Having looked about online and then suddenly had the word fire emerge in my head I think it might have been this.

And I’m sorry this isn’t very Britpop of me, but I loved this one too , it was surprisingly nice!

Oh yes, Impulse Zen, I had that too!

I wonder what fragrances our Britpop heroines and heroes wore, if any!

Nice way to siege the conversation back on topic!
I honestly don’t remember reading anything about any their fragrances in interviews (it would be just the kind of useless info to stick in my mind too!).

The Spice Girls Impulse was gorgeous 😳

Back on topic, I remember we were heavily into record bags at school around this time. Dreadful for the old shoulder but so cute.

There are some of the old scents still on eBay but what people are charging for something that is years out of date and probably now smells like vinegar is shocking.

It was always Diamond White for my crowd. It was cheap and cheerful. Then we either ended up on Red Square, WKD or whatever else was available and always ended the night with a few gasmasks of Aftershock. Christ only knows the amount of times I ended up waking up the next morning in agony because I had burnt myself.

I remember Noel Gallagher was wearing CK One for a while. I got it for Christmas in 1996 and posed with it for the video camera: "the scent of Noel Gallagher~~" 🙈 I was 25. 🙊

Oasis (and Blur) can be blamed for a lot of my 90s style - Noel G hair and a lot of second hand men's clothing, right down to the shoes (not recommended), handmade necklaces (de rigueur) etc. I really only came out of it in 2001, haha.

I have fond memories of the small Body Shop location in our town at the time, all the sample bottles of perfume with the glass tester wands in them. I really loved dewberry too as well as sandalwood. My sister's favourite is still white musk. I was shocked when I heard (here!) that they were moving into mlm.

All two lines before his character gets shot!
Trying to think of more films you could call Britpop movies. I think the resurgence of the cheeky Cockney gangster film was related to the whole Cool Britannia thing.
Loving this thread - that era from around 1995 to 1999 was an amazing period. The final party before technology consumed us all - no mobiles, internet in it's early stages, TV you either stayed in for (yeah right!) or had to video and glorious music. Pub culture was still a thing, you could still go to gigs and see bands who may actually make the big time, and that summer of '96 with the Euro's was glorious (I'm not even a football fan but how could you not get swept up in it).

It was a bit of a renaissance for British cinema – although it was a bit, the good, the bad and the weird!

Good mention of ‘Face’ – a bit of a forgotten Brit crime film which is better than it deserves to be. Who remembers ¾ of All Saints in edgy (well it was an 18) film ‘Honest’? Then there was Shooting Fish, Small Faces, Divorcing Jack, Brassed Of, East is East, Nil By Mouth, Love, Honour and Obey, Shopping – oh there was a ton of them!

I miss the 90’s although I think I’m still stuck in them in my head as I want to buy a pair of docs now.
