So far we are a million miles ahead of the EU with vaccinations and been able to stop sanitry products being taxed as non essential, so that's a couple of positives of Brexit already.

Been getting in to some twitter arguments lately about seasonal workers in the EU. My partner has worked ski seasons for the last three years. Normally he'd be preparing to fly out next week but with Covid and Brexit no one has any idea what's going on. The gist of it seems to be that if staff were out in the EU before the 31 December, they'd be able to continue as posted workers for the rest of the season, and the UK travel companies would have had an extra year to sort out how they move forward with taking UK staff to the EU for work next year. But due to Covid it looks unlikely and from 1 Jan is seems they will need visas etc and the posts will need to be advertised in the EU first for a period of time before they can be offered to UK workers, which seems to be complicated - basically no one really knows what will be required.
But people on Twitter just seem to do the whole "ohhh poor little rich kids won't be able to skive off in Europe" narrative, without acknowledging that it's actually a high portion of working class kids who do seasons because it's the only way they could afford to travel (literally costs my BF nothing for the whole winter and he sends almost all his wages home to save), whereas now either the cost to the employees will go up (meaning working class young people may struggle to afford to do it) OR the additional costs of hiring British staff will be passed on to the British holidaymakers and the cost of ski holidays and summer activity holidays will go up. Obviously loads of leavers don't care about that, but it's infuriating me that people are so narrow minded that they can't see that we are losing a GOOD THING here. "People will still be able to work in the EU" - yes but it will be so much more difficult now

Probably a mistake somewhere in the setup by the seller (not that it's their fault it's probably pretty confusing), I don't think it means Brtish exporters are fucked in fact if it's sold or fulfilled by amazon they could be 20% cheaper:

I haven't read the full details of the Brexit trade talks, but from the bits I have read it seems to leave the UK in limbo, with nothing tangible being achieved other than for an uncertain future.

Boris won't be a PM forever, but his legacy will last beyond his current tenure. I'm not sure of the mood of Brexiteers after this "deal" but I don't think ether side will be entirely happy with it.

The only parties I can see who will benefit are those who want, and will now likely get, Scottish independence, Welsh independence and a step closer to a United Ireland.

I can't see a united Ireland happening the north's being used as a" stop off "for both countries ,nothing more . A lot of retailers have decided they won't be sending goods to NI even though there's a waiver of fees until April #disgusted.

Yeah one look at the comments section on RTE's Facebook tells me it would never happen. We're just in limbo here after Brexit. We're meant to be in this unique position of still being part of the single market but the EU is treating us like the rest of the UK, the UK is treating us like we're still in the EU, and ROI can't get far enough away from us
