Isn't the Agreement something like 1200 pages thick, and that the PM and his senior Ministers have only been given a "summary" of all the tasty click-bait bits without fully acknowledging the subtle minute in the wording!

It reminds me of when you install a bit of software or an app onto your computer/phone, and you're prompted with a pop-up that bangs on about "By installing this product you accept......" followed by pages and pages of legal faff that no one other than sad IT nerds (like me!) ever bother to read; but instead click "accept" and move on in order to get to the best bits and sod the consequences.

You literally only need an EU passport though if anyone asks after 90 days.

On a British passport now, as opposed to before, if you exceed the rules you need a visa or permit. I know of people who work within travel sector who are struggling with this.

My other half worked ski seasons in Europe for five years. Now the company he worked for have massively reduced their operations because it’s so much more difficult to bring British staff out, and they now prioritise their summer workers for jobs over people who just do the winter - like my other half - so he wasn’t able to get a job last season. They only hired their existing summer staff for winter jobs or people with EU passports. They were struggling for staff in the last couple of months and STILL my OH couldn’t get a job because he doesn’t have an EU passport. He’s trying to go down a different route this winter and apply for a seasonal workers permit, but previously he could literally have just gone to France and got a job in a bar and rented an apartment for the winter with zero issues and it’s just not possible now.

Doesn't seem to add up; someone who exported solely to the EU and received EU funding voted brexit is now worried that it will affect him? Something seems fishy or he's really not with it.

Rayner fucked me off saying that the deal was the tories responsibility even if Labour vote for it. No, if you vote in favour of passing it, you are also responsible for it.

On a personal level I agree with you, but can also see how this is a really difficult one for them. If Labour don't vote the deal through and we are plunged into a no deal situation, it's going to be all 'Boris saved the day getting a deal and Labour blocked it so any chaos that now ensues is Labour's fault'. Not sure what the answer to it all is but having any kind of deal surely seems better than no deal.

But Platy, they still can go to Europe for up to three months, otherwise they simply get a visa if they'd prefer to stay longer. It's not going to be any different than staying for long periods in America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and many other parts of the world.

Likewise people living in Europe will need a visa to stay in the UK for long stretches too.

Isn't that what this transitional year was supposed to be used for, to not only try and reach a deal but also address what will happen with investments, passports and movement of people. What will be the rights of EU citizens in the UK once January 1st hits?

We don't seem to be any further forward than what we were at the beginning of the year.

EU citizens are fine and have been sorted. British immigrants, sorry i mean expats, in the EU are suddenly finding out that they need to sort out their own drivers licences, bank accounts, property laws as if they don't have naturalisation status.

Freedom of movement has gone. Bastards.

No deal doesn't bother me in the slightest. What's the worst that can happen, it might cost 10p extra for a pack of Danish bacon or 15p more for a bottle of Belgian beer? I think most of us can cope with that.

I think there may be a tad more in issues than higher prices in the supermarkets.

I read this but I still can’t work out whether it applies to Northern Ireland or just those residing in the republic. I’m British born in England but I’ve been in NI for a number of years and this is my forever home now.
I maybe need to do a few email enquiries and see where I stand ...

Have you got any Irish born relatives ? if not you have to apply for citizenship like any foreigner would you wouldn't have an automatic entitlement to it.
