My SIL is Irish. She and my brother live in Ireland. He says he'll never move back to the UK.Is it easy to do? I have no irish relatives but if Scotland do go for independence it's something I could go for. I don't want to leave my country but I don't really recognise it much at the moment.

I have an Irish friend whose daughter was born in the UK (English Dad who's passed away now) They live in the UK, but she has applied for an Irish passport for her daughter. All of her family are back in Ireland. She has no plans to move back at the moment (daughter is 16 and just started college) but she wants the Irish passport for her so her daughter can have options in the future too.

It takes a while, I qualify through my grandmother but only I think if my dad then apples for and gets his so until he does we can’t!!You need an Irish parent or grandparent.
