has not social distanced or worn a mask when in meetings. WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM?!? He can't even do the absolute bare minimum.
I'm not a fan, but no 10 has apparently followed all the rules to create a "covid secure workplace" so under the rules he's not required to wear a mask there. I'm not sure of the exact stats but wearing a mask has a small reduction in infection and wearing all day inside probably isn't that effective. So what can you realistically do in an imperfect world?

Unpopular opinion but the UK is suffering the worst not just because of shambolic leadership but due to a combination of things including a population that won't follow the rules and one the most unhealthy nations in Europe.

And many other countries in Europe are facing similar issues as we're not countries like Singapore where chewing gum is illegal, not flushing the loo is against the law and being gay can get you several years in prison.

Looking at the daily wail!! It seems that Carrie has a tremendous amount of sway over Boris!! Is this utter bullshit or is it true? What are the whispers? Last time we heard the rumour mill supposed they had split? Looks as if they are still together??

There's no such thing as a covid secure workplace.

Wearing a mask has more than a small reduction in the likelihood of being infected.

A population that doesn't follow the rules is pretty much down to Boris et al not following the rules. What kind of prick says that he shook hands with people who had Covid?

The on purpose mixed messaging has the very effect of confusing people.

But hey, people will get their Christmas, I'm sure. And then we have the first actual proper lockdown in January with a strict curfew. But of course, the main purpose of that will be to cover up the fallout from Brexit kicking in, with supply of food being immensely affected, seeing as we're more than likely going to see No Deal occurring, which has been the Tories' goal from day 1.

Covid secure is terminology to say a workplace has taken steps to reduce the risk of the spread. It doesn't mean an environment where it's impossible to pick it up https://www.hse.gov.uk/coronavirus/working-safely/index.htm

Source? I've only ever heard peer review studies say a small overall percentage after you look at the complete picture from touching face more and the inevitable wearing for too long. apparently most effective for short periods in public places. Hence why public health advice is to not wear one all day in an office that has taken steps to reduce the spread.

There's loads of good reasons to have a pop at Johnson and he's made a lot of mistakes, so it distracts when people have a go at him when he's following public health advice.

Which he didn't do for months.

Pretty much the first thing he said about Covid-19 was words to the effect of "Don't worry".

It doesn't matter what you come out with after that. Straight away. people take their cue from that - hence the lack of mask wearing and social distancing in indoor environments by many that has led to the whole Covid thing being dragged out.

And re masks, a friend who works in an ICU ward in London mentioned that pretty much everyone they've had in over the past few weeks doesn't wear masks.

He's lost the plot. Hiding out in his bunker after testing negative for covid when brexit negotiations need urgent attention. Classic Boris when the heat is on just hide and talk in riddles. Pulled a real con job on those who voted for him (n)

He is probably biding his time out of the way, before he sneaks off. Just before the tit hits the brexit fan.

Boris Johnson has failed the public, ignored Cummings and Patel. He's caused over 50,000 deaths and 70,000 excess deaths. Millions of jobs lost, industries butchered and destroyed. Pubs and hhigh street shops closing their stores for good. Starving kids while MP's get a pay rise themselves. Ignoring racism in his own party, breaking his own rules, not following the mask and socially distancing policy in government meetings. He's spent 19 billion on Covid19, with only 14 billion of that spent, where they know where it's gone and accounted for.

All that will be forgiven, because Boris is spending 16 billion on the defence, which is not an increase, but taking us back to the level that we had the defence budget under Brown.

New thread for the man that's looking more and more like a ghost with each day. Will he still be able to cast a shadow come Christmas?

Sometimes you get exactly what you want in life, then find it a living hell that you can't wait to worm out of.

I bet Theresa May wakes up every day with a spring in her step

The current government are only there on the back of Brexit. Going along with Brexit was the only way Boris could be PM.
All the anti EU Tories lie and talk nonsense, but no media cares. When Boris was foreign secretary he didn't know basic foreign policy history. The media made a massive fuss when he said a dumb unimportant comment on a TV show, but media didn't care when he said on the same show that there wasn't a vote on the 2nd war against Iraq, when more Tory MPs had voted yes to it than other parties. That means he either puts on a clown act to get away with telling lies and the media is in with him. Or him and the media are stupid.
Boris is a man who shacked up with his pregnant girlfriend in No 10, with a string of previous women he got pregnant and treated badly including his wife, he was still married to while living with the girlfriend, and USA citizen Murdoch owned Sun make him out to be a trustworthy man.

Then there's Michael Gove, who said in Guardian Education that Labour were liars for saying Tories would get rid of Education Maintenance Allowance if they won the election, and then Tories did take away EMA when they won the election. Now that liar is leading us out the EU.

As an English person, I'm jealous Scotland have the chance of a brighter future with another vote to leave the UK, to become a separate nation in the EU. Devolution has already allowed them to counteract Tory policies, so Scottish people can have free prescriptions and university, while English students are around £50,000 in debt. They vote for politicians who want to be like the rest of north Europe, instead of a USA state, like with England, with an economy based on little else than being closely linked with USA banks encouraging greed and debt, so the economy crashes every few years when many can't pay back the debts they're encouraged to live on.

Gove is, if possible, even more loathsome than the liar Johnson. He made a speech saying that if any teacher is found using or in possession of cocaine they should be sacked. It came out a couple of years later that he had been an enthusiastic user of the colombian export, but only admitted when a book came out about him.

So now he has bottled it over Patel. First she claims she was innocent of bullying and now she apologised for it. Usefully people walk when they have been found to break the code. Trump and now Patel show that there is no honour left in western politics any more.
