I'm a little bit underwhelmed by the Amazon First books this morning but will have a proper look later and see.

As a prime member you get to choose one (or sometimes two) book for free at the beginning of each month. This link explains more and shows you this month's selections.
Thank you, really appreciate it 😊

Just finished Again, Rachel by Marian Keys and I loved it 💕 I was actually sad to finish it, I was slowing down reading it towards the end because I just didn’t want it to end and wanted it to last as long as possible 🤣
Same 😊 Loved it. Hoping they'll be more of the Walsh sisters 🤞

How did you get on with Chernobyl Prayer? Been considering buying it after you mentioned it
It was so powerful. Since it was a collection of stories from the area and from the people of Pripyat it was easy to read but the stories were powerful. The author has a different way of telling the stories and i loved it. She finds the essence of the interviews and captures the feelings. Everyone should read it in my opinion 😞 and the author has got into trouble with the dictator of Belarus after reading this i ordered her other books online.

February reads - half of these have been audio books this month.

Stand out books were Reminders of Him (great first book club choice!) I also enjoyed Baby Be Mine and Room.

I wouldn’t recommend Surprise Me (boring) and didn’t see the hype with Normal People. A rare time when I preferred the tv show to the book.

As I posted earlier, The Nothing Man went to the DNF pile BUT this was largely due to the narrators of the audiobook and I’m hoping to actually read this next month.

I have a good few library ebooks that’ll be ready to download in the next couple of weeks so I’m looking forward to March 🥰
How did you find Pieces of Her?

I'm reading it just now, about 30% of the way through. I'm intrigued by the plot and interested to keep reading to see where the story goes but am also kind of finding it a bit long winded/almost too descriptive. I feel like every 50 words could be condensed down to 10!

I'll definitely still watch it on Netflix when it comes out though!

I struggled with it! I really enjoyed Blindsighted by KS, then moved onto book two of that series and ended up DNF’ing. I really want to enjoy her books but you’re right, they could be condensed.

I felt like this one picked up around 75% through but to be honest I’m not sure if that’s because it was reaching a conclusion and I was kind of relieved?

ETA: I’ll be watching the series too - that was my reason for wanting to read the book beforehand ☺

I've just done that and managed to download book number 2. I definitely would suggest you do too.
I’m trying it now and they won’t let me. They keep saying “sorry for the misunderstanding but it’s only one book”. I keep saying it’s not a misunderstanding that it’s their error but they’re not having any of it.

They now want a screenshot of the site saying 2 choices but I don’t have it as I came off the page and it’s since changed to 1. They’re not shifting on it so no second book for me.

since 1981, so I grew up with her books, Dogger featured greatly in my childhood and I then again shared then my with my own children more recently.

A great life lived (and drawn).

Oh that is really sad. I too grew up with her books - Dogger being my absolute favourite children’s book (I still have my very worn out childhood copy over 30 years later!) I’ve got so many memories attached to that book and others of hers that it’s awful to hear of her passing. She was such a big part of my childhood.

They said that to me but I told them my friend had been allowed two books under the circumstances and ‘on this occasion only’ they reset me so I could choose a second book.

I’m glad they sorted it for you. I’m not even that bothered by what I was going to pick but it’s the principal of it.

I’ve just done it too! Which second book did you go for?
I went for full 😃

@Katykatykaty those sneaky rats! I have a screenshot. Let me crop and upload it here for you and anyone else that needs it. X

Ok I think I have hidden all my sensitive data whilst still giving you enough to complain to Amazon including the URL. If someone thinks I've not hidden something identifying can you please give me a heads up? :)

Nearly finished song of achilles and I’m totally in love. Will be the easiest 5 stars I’ve ever given I think. Really hope they adapt it for screen.
