the actual embarrassment of the book I just readI don't normally read Christmas books but now from your posts I feel like i've been missing outso the other day I bought Always in December by Emily Stone. Feeling down in the dumps today so might wrap up in a blanket and read it now

Agreed. I am thinking she's one of those authors who can't sustain their earlier brilliance. Saline Durrant is another, loved her first two hated the othersthe actual embarrassment of the book I just read

I held off reading Richards first book as it was so over-hyped and I usually hate books like that but as other tattlers have said I read one and enjoyed it so much and enjoyed the second one as well. I like books that build a whole world around them and love how they are based on older people!

I have the second but haven't read it yet. I really enjoyed the first though and agree I like that it was based on older people. I loved the characters and found them v funny. I wouldn't class it as a serious crime plot it was more the characters that made the book so enjoyable for me.
I heard Richard Osman on the radio a while ago and he was saying he wanted to write anonymously with a pen name so that people would just view the books as books and not books by a celeb, but it was pretty much a deal breaker that the books were published under his real name. So I'd say there is no ghost writer.
I just saw that The Woman in the Woods is 99p on Kindle, I can't remember who was asking for sppoky books a few pages back but this one is pretty eerie.

Angela Marsons Kim Stone series is great considering it’s 13 or so books in.
