I rated it higher (4) but agree with you, I didn’t get a touch of the devastation others have reported and wondered if I was more of an ice queen than I thought. Other books since have in fact reminded me I have loads of feelings 🤣
lol I have cried more at romantasy books than this.

again for me, I think it just comes back to how one dimensional the characters were so I really didnt connect with any of them to feel sad about anything happening to them.

Book Boss - just reading 5 books in April, I read 26 so.....

Community Picks - Dear Debbie by Frieda McFadden 2*

Trending Books - Dear Debbie by Frieda McFadden 2*

---

I dislike Frieda McFadden immensely so why her book was picked twice I'm not sure. It may be because my rule of just 8 tbr books at any one time and I figured if I had her it would kill two birds with one stone. She hurts my eyeballs and it was a waste of reading time. 1.5* rounded up to 2*.

I think my favourite book was This Book Won't Burn it is a young adult book and does read as such. It was quite predictable, but I got a little bit teary eyed as the main character went on her journey.

Anyway, a full page of bookmarks pleases me!

I think I have to wait until 1st July for the summer challenge.
Well done you!

Im only on 5/12 but didnt really feel like doing it this time so that 5 is by accident really

Listening to Hannah Murray’s memoir. Wish she would stop doing the American accents. She is not very good! But the book is fascinating

I'm participating in a step challenge for the next fortnight so really need a good audiobook to keep me wanting to go out walking. Any recommendations?

I just finished The Death of Us by Abigail Dean has anyone read it? I found it quite a strange book and quite hard to follow but it was well written. Also was annoyed as the kindle edition finished at 91% as the final 9% was acknowledgements and other rubbish after. So frustrating as I felt the ending just came out of nowhere.

i really loved secret of strangers by Charity Norman on audiobook. Not sure reading it would have had the same impact for me.

I have started reading 'Pitching Up!' By Deborah Aubrey. I fancied a silly book. It is about a bunch of older couples on a caravan holiday and funny stuff that they get up to.

I went on loads of caravan holidays as a kid, and the book feels very accurate to what it is like. Early on the main couple are getting a bit aggy with each other over reversing the caravan onto a pitch and I can remember by parents doing exactly the same every time we went away.

You might like The Tent, The Bucket and Me. Its by Emma Kennedy and her memoirs of camping holidays as a kid. I really liked it, even though im not keen on her as a person!

That is such a funny book, I remember nearly passing out trying not to laugh out loud whilst reading it stood up on a crowded train! Time for a re-read I think.

Paging @LaBlonde and any other London Calling fans who also use ereaders - Father Material is £1.99!

Also I was looking up The Open Era, and Kobo apparently thinks it's... non-fiction??

I've read The Death of Us. Found it hard going as well. I've read her other two books as well. Girl A was gripping and I read it in a couple of days but this one I really had to push on to finish. I think it's definitely one of the more disturbing books I'll read this year.

Recent fluff read was Preloved which was on Prime. The story as a whole I didn't really enjoy but there were some beautiful phrases in it. If it had just been stand alone short stories I think I would have liked it more.
