Just occurred to me I should switch books to Evenings & Weekends since it’s set in a London heatwave lol although now I’m torn between ‘immersive read’ and will it make me feel hotter?? 🫣

I remember reading The Island on a really hot day and it made me feel hotter! In fact I went and laid in a cold bath and read it there.
I also read Great Gatsby on a really hot day, i'm obvs a glutton for it!

There is one thing i dont like about In Memoriam. It was so beautiful and I loved it sooo much its given me a book hangover for the rest of June and ive not enjoyed any book since!I confessed I didn’t love In Memoriam and I’m still here so there’s hope

Am I just unsympathetic or a bit daft or did it just not make any kind of sense at all?
I really enjoyed it as a weird horror, and one of my close friends has a fear of the vastness/unknown nature of the ocean so I guess I also appreciated it from that perspective, but it was also a very strange little book!
Did anyone else get overexcited about news of book vases in Aldi?

I'm not sure how I feel about this. There's so much to squeeze into a film!
I'd heard about this a while ago, and had the same feelings. It needs to be a series not a film, there is too much to fit in to a film. It's the same reason why no Count of Monte Cristo film is properly good enough because it isn't long enough to Have everything in. Because even if they manage to the first book any kind of justice, the second book is impossible to do justice in a film.

i don’t know how i feel about this either! especially as, to match the vision in my head, they need to cast lando norris as the lead
it’s one of those books that only works as a series i think, it’s way too vast! and i don’t know how they’ll do all the twisty stuff at the end.
