I really enjoyed Broken Country, read it in a day. When I have finished my current JD Kirk I am going to read Pictures of Him by the same author. It's not quite as well reviewed but we'll see.

Celaena gave me such rage in the first book, much like Feyre in ACOTAR. Although I've found Feyre irritating throughout the series tbf. TOG as a whole I preferred. I DNF Crescent City but I really want to try again. So many books, so little time though.I am reading the Throne of Glass series in preparation for OctoberI bought the box set when it was like 33% off last year, knowing I would get round to it but the recent Maas announcement has bumped it up my TBR.
So far I have done:
The Assassin's Blade (short stories/novella ). I got it out of the way first, and I am glad I did as it kind of helped with backstory. I think it would have thrown me to read it 3rd or 4th like some suggest.
Then Throne of Glass
And Crown of Midnight
And Heir of Fire.
Just 4 more to go
Queen of Shadows
Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn - I am going to try the tandem read for the experience as I have never done one before and it could be fun
Then Kingdom of Ash
Impressions so far, after Heir of Fire:
Throne of Glass was a slow start but I liked Chaol and found Dorian boring
Crown of Midnight was more intriguing with more lore. I do feel like Celaena was unfair to Chaol, he was tricked, he didn't deliberately let her down, but he does seem unconfortable about her in her new form. Dorian still annoyed me.
Heir of Fire...okay now we are talking. A-hellooooo, Rowan! I am liking Celeana/Aelin more now. I wasn't sure in the earlier books. Dorian still my least fave but he's getting interesting now.
The books are getting more meaty and interesting now. I am going to keep chain-reading them now the momentum is going. I usually have a fantasy on the go alongside a mystery and a lit fic as I am a mood reader, so my fantasy ones will be Maas until I finish them. There are also the Crescent City books which I will try to read before October as well, just so when ACOTAR 6+7 come out I can see if there are the rumoured crossovers.
ACOTAR re-introduced me to Fantasy fiction recently and I do like Maas's writing style so I am having fun.
If I've read a book I've enjoyed by an author, I also check out their others.
Picked up The Names in Asda today for £5.48.
i have found my people! she’s SO ANNOYING (though i think not helped by the fact that SJM never lets her or rhys be in the wrong about anything). frost and starlight was insufferable for this reason
(also i find their reactions to tamlin really OTT but i don’t know if that’s an unpopular opinion. i didn’t think he was that bad

unless it wasn't you then i take that back I think im gonna have to re read some of the acotar series before october. My memory is geniunely shocking

i like him more than rhys! i will speak my truth! i don’t get why she made him the villain of the piece when he was just trying to do right by his court! why he is unworthy of forgiveness when rhys has done worse things?! answer me sjm!
Finished Broken Country. Highly recommend and a 5* for me. 
Pictures of Him is poor in comparison to Broken Country. I’ve read all her books and none of them tbf match up.
That is what all of the reviews say too. Maybe I will stick with my JD Kirk books then.
I really think there’s too much Tamlin hate.

it’s so crazily out of proportion compared to what other characters in those books are forgiven for too (though one of the things that annoys me about sjm’s writing is that she never lets feyre or the night court face criticism for anything). he made terrible decisions yes but i never saw him as a villain and i don’t get how we’re meant to
think that he is.
Just finished Broken Country, what a beautiful book. Its so well written, its disappointing that none of her other books stack up as I want to read more of her.

I’m so confused I thought Broken Country was a debut. But then when I’ve been and looked it seems the other 2 books (Pictures of Him and Days you were mine) were published after Broken Country later in 2025
according to goodreads, they’re rereleases of books she released a few years ago under a different name. i think that they republished them when broken country was so successful!

I got Broken Country paperback yesterday from Amazon. They had a few books on 2 for £8.98 and that was one of the ones I got
I’ve been reading some of Harriet Tyce’s books recently (following Traitors). Not usually my kind of thing at all, but I read Witch Trial this week and the twist towards the end was SO much fun. The previous 2 I read were so dark and depressing but this one left me with a huge smile on my face! A delightful turn of events, very playful writing.
