Went straight to the 99p kindle deals for March today. Immediately snapped up ‘and now, back to you’ by BK Borison because I was about to pay full price on Friday for it!
Fourth wing is on there too, I’ve always said fantasy isn’t really my thing but so many people seem to love it. Same goes for I’m glad my mom died by jennette mccurdy
Have also heard good things about the following
Night shift - Annie crown
Seven summers - Paige toon
Funny story - Emily Henry

I reckon I’ll finish the two I’ve currently got on the go (including the one I’m hate reading) tomorrow so that’s march off to a good start!

My February reading. Overall a very good month! Tomorrow x 3 was probably my favourite.

tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow is SUCH a beautiful book. the whole stardew valley section is still one of my favourite pieces of recent writing (and it’s done with so much love!)

There's some controversy around the author's note on the translation which I'm not really understanding at all. I am finding that I feel like I'm missing the cultural context but that is to be expected and explaining it to me in the footer would break the flow of the story imo - I actually had a problem with the footers for The Monster Behind The Door for this exact reason, even when it was explaining cultural or noting a joke missed in the translation.

I expected the book to be a lot more of a criticism on religion as a whole but I'm getting the vibe that it's more of a feminist criticism.
There's a story about circumcision - it's quite barbaric in the way it's portrayed for the poorer boys vs the wealthy boys who end up going to get it done by a doctor, and the story appears to boil down to the more traditional practice actually being better - which really highlighted it to me. It's quite interesting to reflect on these differences in culture and where I'm expecting the story to go vs where it actually goes

I loved this book, interestingly the blurb didn't hugely appeal and I have less than zero knowledge of the computer games industry but I am glad I listened to recommendations as I loved it!!!

I read it in December - and liked it; if you’ve not already then I recommend reading I wish it could be Christmas every day first. You don’t need to but there’s some tie in/throw back moments.
I really enjoyed both books

I also loved Marx as a character and was so shocked when he was killed, I really liked (weirdly) the part where it’s from his perspective as he’s dying It’s definitely become a favourite read unexpectedly.

I’ve been tempted to get the Folio Society version, looks beautiful (as to be expected!).

yes! i love how it turned into one of the most beautiful depictions of grief that i’ve ever read. the “reveal” with the macbeth title really got to me. - it’s definitely a favourite of mine too!

also i cannot remember who recommended it here but if one of you is the poster who mentioned the mars house by natasha pulley - thank you! halfway through now and it is so good

I was telling my friends last night how I’m trying to read more than I buy and that I’d read seven books this month and bought seven too…then remembered I’d bought great expectations at the charity shop that morning so I was one over (and having been through this months kindle deals it’s going to be the same this month so yeh it could b drugs )

my February reads - lots of history as usual
