My February reads.

My 5 star reads were:

The Correspondent - Virgina Evans
White Boots - Noel Streatfeild (an old childhood fave i had a sudden yearning to reread)
A Month In the Country - JL Carr. A Penguin Modern classic that crammed an awful lot of very beautiful writing into just over 100 pages.

Worst book and 1.5 stars

Guilt Trip by Jo Furniss. Absolutely ridiculous.

All the rest nice enough reads feel like ive had a good reading month

My standout book is probably Fingersmith - knew very little about it beforehand, which probably helped. Enjoyed Homeseeking, though I wanted a little more from the US side. The Left Hand of Darkness is definitely one to reread at some point.

Just the three for me this February. I have been sleeping on From Blood and Ash! on the second of the series now.

My Feb reads. Quite a mixed bag. The Diamond Eye, The Seven Dials Mystery and Deacon King King were all pretty disappointing, especially Deacon King Kong. Critcally acclaimed but actually a lot of bad reviews and DNFs on StoryGraph so it feels like one that people either love or hate, not much in between.

The second half was much better! I’ve somehow managed to read a couple of Santa Montefiore’s Deverill series out of order so going back and reading them all from the start. The Hallmarked Man wasn’t my favourite Strike but still a good read (and lots of Strike & Robin side plot). Hands down best book of the month (no surprise!) was The Correspondent. Read the whole thing today sitting by a sunny pool and loved every word!

My Mum and Dad went to the bookshop in Alnwick when they were on a coach trip at Christmas and they really liked it and said if I had been there I would have loved it.

I’ve been to Shakespeare & Co in Paris. They stamp your books inside with their logo and you get a little dust bag too! I bought The Parisians by Isabella Hammad and The Paris Bookshop which is based on Shakespeare & Co

A really good reading month, Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 ruined my average rating but I'll forgive that!

I got 3 months free top up audiobook hours on Spotify too, 25 hours each month instead of 15 and I'm seriously contemplating paying the additional £9.99 when the free trial ends in March (I think). I've had so much fun with it, but I do not need another subscription!

More bookshops being mentioned in the comments. Must say I didn't get how wonderful the Bradford Waterstones was when I visited. Was absolutely dead and felt quite dank in there.

I’d love to visit the bookshop in Wigtown. I read the books by Shaun Bythell who runs it. He’s so funny

Can highly recommend Leakey’s if anyone is ever in Inverness. It’s such a great bookstore, proper treasure trove.

Just the 4 for me this month. Blaming it on a stinking cold knocking me flat for the best part of a week

1 star for The Witch (so boring good lord), 5 stars for The Art Thief and 4 stars for the other two.

Just started Diavola by Jennifer Thorne.

I’ve only read 2 books this month Prima Facie and an Else Silver. I’ve been in such a slump, I’ve got an audio on the go though which I’m enjoying which might shake me out a bit. And I’m persevering with The Tailor of Panama which I’ve been reading for ages as I think it’s about to pick up.
