I read it and thought there must be more to it. I also thought she was a whiney old bag and had little sympathy.
Yes I read it a couple of years ago ( and the two subsequent books) . I found that none of them really drew me in at the start of the book and then picked up once Ray/Moth had set off on their travels. I found all 3 quite inspiring reads ( once I had got into the story - and more from moths side )
She also came across as very woe is me when I read them as well - not so much during the walks but at the start of each book .

I got out of my reading slump recently on holiday and luckily I've stuck with it.
I've just read Binding 13 and Keeping 13, one after another. I'm not gonna read any of the others.
The inconsistency of some of the things Chloe wrote were really irritating me. Towards the end of Keeping 13 when describing Gibsies trauma. Johnny says it happened when Gibsie was 7yo, so Claire would have been 2-3yo. That math ain't mathing.
I've read the article now, and watched the Tiktok video - what a shocker!
I thought the whole premise of them losing their house was that they turned up late to the court case and missed it, but in actual fact it was because she is a liar and thief. Haha I thought the same. Reminded me of uni students reinventing themselves / the character Oregon in Fresh Meat (whose real name is Melissa).
I thought the use of Moth might have been his nickname.
