I always find I struggle to warm to Kristin Hannah's books in the beginning - I nearly DNF The Nightingale. Then the middle is usually really good, and well researched, followed by a rushed ending with all the loose ends tied up neatly which sometimes feels a bit unsatisfying. She picks some very interesting time periods and events to write about though.Finished the short stories collection Show Don't Tell by Curtis Sittenfield today. I've actually tried to slow down and drag it out, and I know I bang on about what a great writer she is, but this collection is superb. Highly recommend it.
And now onto The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, which I'm already thinking how has this been hyped up so much. Will stick with it...
