I always find I struggle to warm to Kristin Hannah's books in the beginning - I nearly DNF The Nightingale. Then the middle is usually really good, and well researched, followed by a rushed ending with all the loose ends tied up neatly which sometimes feels a bit unsatisfying. She picks some very interesting time periods and events to write about though.

I made the mistake of reading a few goodreads reviews of it!
The last 3 books I read have all been heavy with two set during WW2 and one set during the Troubles. I decided to go for something light for my next read and I picked the first book in Elsie Silver's Chestnut Spring series. It is such an easy and fun read and I am really enjoying it. It is nice to mix it up.
Elsie's books make me want to start horse riding again (I rode as a girl) but I don't know if I'd find as many attractive cowboys at a stables here in the UK

I read them straight through! Although boys of tommen i didn’t because I needed to have a light read between them
Depends when Borrowbox gives them to me! I like a break, but I don't mind if I read a couple in a row.
It depends for me. I read the Windy City Series back to back but read Chestnut Springs intermittently.
Mix them up. I need variety, I don’t very often even read the same genre back to back so can’t imagine reading a multi book series all the way through.

Eddie Flynn series I savoured and spaced them out. I could've binged them I just wanted to make them last.
M.C. Beaton's Hamish Macbeth series was a bit 50/50. I'd read like 5/6 then need a break of something else before going back to it, just needing a change of story to read.

Absolutely mental!! I felt bad for Liv at the end, yeah they probably won't be charged, yeah she was a witch, but she hadn't really done anything wrong that needed to 'punished' and she's lost everything - fair play to her though for blackmailing them! I was also gutted that Margot died tbh, feels a bit wrong to kill her so soon after her baby was born, I'm sure she would have reverted to type, but give her a chance at least!! I hope Anna gets caught, she went too far!! I enjoyed it overall though.
Has anyone read Truth Truth Lie by Claire McGowan? Read in one sitting yesterday, what a rollercoaster of a book. I thought it was going to follow the same pattern as similar books, but it was very unique and full of twists and turns. Free on Prime as well.
I try and mix them up. I don't like reading the same genre for more than a few books in a row or else I get bored.
My signed copy of John Green's new book arrived today so thats the evening sorted. Its about Tuberculosis so probably light relief after watching Adolescence
I don’t normally, but I finished Magnolia Parks on audio earlier and I’m considering using a credit for the next one for my next listen. I enjoyed it more than I thought.
In regards to a series I have to buy them all before I start reading them, but when I do start reading a series I often read them straight through although I do sometimes mix them up and read something else before continuing on with the series.
Yes I read this recently and was pleasantly surprised at some of the twists.
I find John Marrs books all follow a very similar theme. I like that he seems to be a fan of strictly and there was mention of one of his old books strictly related storyline too
Some Kindle Unlimited books have a headphones symbol next to them. Does this mean the audiobook is included or is it a text to speech AI reading the book?
