I can't believe as a VIP tattler and a book OBSESSIVE that I've only just found this thread!!! I've read this whole thread and added the Strike books to my wishlists and looked up a few others so this may be a bad idea!!!! I have over 500 books on my kindle, two bookcases full - one fiction, one non fiction plus there are book cases in most rooms in the house as well. I will read quite a wide variety of books but really into history at the moment and I will NEVER be doing a 'not buying anymore books till I've read all the TBR' challenge!!! I am a trustee for our local library and I find it impossible to even go in for other things without bringing at least one book home!!!! I always think it could be worse....could be drugs!!!

I usually aim to read 52 books a year (one a week ;)) but have only managed to do it since having kids once but this year I'm on 29 books read already - partly due to deleting tik tok off my phone! So looking forward to chatting books with you all! <3

I read 65 books last year. My goal was to read a lot of books after a few years of having difficulty focusing on reading. Prior to that I was a voracious reader but some personal issues made me have a very difficult time reading and I really missed the escape.

So as I said, for me, 2024 was a success in getting back to reading more. This year, my goal is to read well. I take my time. I look up words. I make notes on stickies (I just can’t bring myself to annotate on physical books). I make journal entries on passages that jump out at me. I’m enjoying the experience. It feels indulgent and I think it’s satisfying something in my brain that has been neglected.

I enjoy this thread. Thanks for sharing and letting me share. 📚 💕

I am currently reading the 22nd book left on my Kindle.

I am guessing to get to the first single digits 9th book around 15th/16th April and the end maybe around 3rd May.

I am annoyed at how many great books I had buried under book upon book. I have found so many little known books that I have enjoyed that I wouldn't ordinarly have dug out to read.

I am excited to see what will be my first purchase!

I am down to 12 unread books on my Kindle. I am in touching distance of single digits on my tbr for the first time since I was about 11.

I have started thinking about which book I will buy first now. What had been your absolute stand out book of 2025 so far?

My library closes on Monday and moves to a few shelves in the local council building in 3 weeks time.. I am so sad already... I don't think I have ever not used a library in my entire life.

K if you have one
Thank you!

(The) Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson. Won't let me add the image, but this was a £1.99 purchase in May 2018 (earliest book to date I think.) Long before the days of 99p reads, Kindle Unlimited, First Reads etc..
Absolutely blitzed through this book in a few hours. Really enjoyed it. I was completely invested in the characters.

I am down to 26 books on my trb. Eep. The end is finally in sight.

It is 804 days since I purchased a book - 29th December 2022. Which just shows you how out of control my tbr was. I went through and got rid of all my 'filler' books and trimmed it down to those books I actually wanted to read - which took days to do, at the beginning.

I have read 578 books since I last purchased one. I will have read 604 once I get to the end of my tbr.

In the future I am not going to have more than 8 books on my tbr and I will be really strict about it.

Can't really do the next letter picking anymore, so I am just putting the number into a random number generator and counting down the books that way.

Up next....

Thank you Tattle Book lovers. I have now joined Ealing online and will hop on a bus next Wed as apparently they also have a crochet group at lunchtime. They do seem to have a consortium agreement which means I will have access to a wider range. Pity I have to travel over an hr each way to get there in person at a cost of £1.75 X 2 when there is a "library" literally on my doorstep.,

Love you guys for the support and info..

I’ve discovered that my work employee benefits we can buy book tokens for 10% off. This is dangerous.

Great month for me this month.

15 books read.

Favourite read The Bookbinder of Jericho by Pip Williams. 5 stars and excellent

Other 5 star reads:
The Cuckoo's Calling - JKR/Robert Galbraith
Night Swimmers - Roisin Maguire
Goodnight Vienna - Marius Gabriel

4 stars and really enjoyed

Where Water Lies - Hillary Tailor
The Seven -.Robyn Delvey
Suffragette autobiography by Emmeline Pankhurst

Worst book
Guard Her With Your Life by Joy Ellis. Sketchy and poor

But all in all a great month, I've really enjoyed most of what I've read

Yeah, I have seen this and the price increase seems to be getting very mixed reactions. That being said the range of books hasn't changed as the same books are in that were in 2 months ago. In fact (controversial opinion) I don't think the books they are choosing are as good as they were before.
I never used to walk out of The Works empty handed, now I struggle to buy anything.

Too much BookTok Tessa Bailey style cliche rubbish that isn't well written enough for me to enjoy.

Lots of those really twee books that have a rustic oldie village and woman on a bicycle.

Thrillers/crime but again too many trying to follow the Richard Osman formula and be even worse than TMC series.

March was a really good month of reading!

Really hard to pick a favourite so I'll pick a least fave which was do no harm! It was informative but I did find myself bored a lot.

I loved this book! It’s been nearly 2 years since I read it and I can still remember the shocks I got as I read on. Hope you enjoy it!
Me - "ooh let me look this one up, sounds up my street'

Amazon - "you already bought it mate.."

(This happens to me more often than I'm willing to admit!) 😂
