Waterstones has 50% off the hardback pre-order for The Hallmarked Man (£15!). I think it will be too chunky for a hardback so might stick with kindle

It was one of my buys this morning I had a Waterstones gift card and couldn’t resist double points! I also pre ordered Famous Last Words and This Is Why We Lied

I always assumed I had never read any of her books because I was too old so they passed me by, but google says Tracy Beaker came out in 1991 and I was 13 then. Mind you I was onto Virginia Andrews at that age!

omg same i reread a lot of virginia andrews over lockdown and, my god, i should not have been reading them at 13. absolute ott madness and i loved every page of it.

also i’ve just bought four books from waterstones and blame stephen completely 🥲

I read Tracy Beaker to my son, but didn't grip me enough to read more haha.

I was a similar age. I think I was in my American high school series era - Sweet Valley High, Cheerleaders etc. - with a bit of Judy Blume thrown in!

It was rather charming seeing each group of children come out clasping their new books and showing them to their friends! That new book feeling I had as a kid still feels the same

So Happy World Book Day to all, old and young! Literacy and access to books are such gifts, ones I do not take for granted!

Yes my son came home with this. There are a select few books chosen for WBD that are £1 so the voucher would make it free, or they can use this for £1 off any book over £2.99

I'm not usually into fantasy but i really enjoyed Legends and Lattes when I was in a slump. Cute and easy to read Set me back on track

The Anomaly by Herve le Tellier is 99p today.

I loved this one for a bit of character sci-fi. After an electrical storm, a plane lands safely...only to find it is 3 months later, and the exact same plane carrying the same passengers already landed on time 3 months ago.
