SLOW BURN. like the slowest burn possible. i want them blushing over brushing fingertips for at least 200 pages, i hate instalove or stuff where there’s absolutely no buildup. it’s all about the YEARNING for me the MUTUAL PINING. no one does good yearning anymore, i want them looking over just as the other person looks away

my fanfic days (still ongoing) mean i absolutely love fake relationships where they have to share a bed and pretend to be a couple (bonus points if they have to attend lots of family functions and maybe it’s christmas).

i love a wonderful angsty forbidden love story like you though. even better if it’s angst with a happy ending. i really like enemies to lovers but i feel like it’s so rare to find it done well. again, thank you fanfic though

Watching it now and have learned something! Jane Austen's cousins husband was guillotined!
They've got a group of young people together and they're going to live how it was. Currently being taught how to do the dances - that's where the guillotine was mentioned as all the aristocracy had their heads cut off.
I'm sure there's a scene later in this video with the Matthew/Keira hand touch:

Well, I've watched the video and it wasn't the one I was thinking of with Matthew/Keira in it.

For all that though, it was fascinating and the young people in it really seemed to be animated and enjoying themselves.

i love this 🫠 it’s also why the sight of a bare ankle was apparently the most scandalous thing - and the fact that you always had to have a chaperone with you.

(The) Mountain in my Shoe by Louise Beech. I am a huge Beech fan but this one has never grabbed me and made me want to read it before. Purchased almost 3 years ago so we will see.

Uhm, wow. Even before this bookLouise Beech is one of my favourite authors. Every book of hers that I have read I have loved, but like I said the blurb on this one never grabbed me. How wrong I was. I don't even know what I can say, I am literally speechless. So much so I haven't felt able to pick another book up. I devoured this in one sitting on Sunday. It is stunningly beautiful. And Conor, the little boy, will stay with me forever just as Sebastian from This Is How We Are Human had. I really recommend this book.

I should never doubt Louise Beech again. Oh Conor . And Sebastian.

Now I am out the other side would anyone like to pick another letter for me?

After a ruined Christmas and hellish January, the dawn started to break in February in my life as things got better. So I've tentatively raised my head above the parapet in March to make sure I can come out without being hit by stray "bullets".
So here's my reading for January and February. Apologies for the crap presentation but technology has run me over.
The 4 stars were of the good but I don't feel the need to own them - I did love the Julian Clary book though. A lot of the 5 stars were comfortable reads or listens to to get me to sleep. Plus I had some binge buys (encouraged by Tattlers) to read up. I've read all the Miss Read purchases now and am slowly working my way through the Georgette Heyer's.
I loved. A Civil Contract, Frederica just didn't grab me - sorry!
Special mentions to the Boris book - what a revelation! However, it came at a bad time and had to be read and quickly returned. A kind soul has given me a downloaded copy to re read when I have time to devote myself to it.
Finally the Andrew Lloyd Webber - a book that can be put down and picked up at will like a gentle amble. A man who had everything and threw it away when he became famous. Quelle surprise. His poor wife, but I'll give him Brownie points in that he did save her life, and did come to realise he'd been a bit of a tit.

I loved this book! It’s been nearly 2 years since I read it and I can still remember the shocks I got as I read on. Hope you enjoy it!

If my own experience of All Fours and other people’s reviews of The Ministry of Time are indicative of the quality of the list then no! I’ll be giving the rest a wide berth! (Obvs always happy to be influenced otherwise though!)

Having seen them recommended all over a Facebook Group, I am struggling through the Lords Series by Shantel Tessier! The story’s are okay, the smut is sometimes too much bordered on abuse in most cases but everyone says they’re amazing I feel like this isn’t the trope for me but I’m on book 3 - I am reading lighter stuff in between though to break it up!
