I adore memoirs and non fiction and have read an obscene amount. I don't even have to be a fan of the person to enjoy them if theyre written well or have something to say. In fact I have found as I have said here before ppl with fascinating lives whose books have been disappointing and surface level - Chrissie Hynde Debbie Harry. I'll have a think.. what sort of folks are you interested in? Do they have to be famous or just people with interesting lives/stories etc?I’m halfway through The Third Gilmore Girl and it’s reminded me how much I love a good memoir. I think my goal for next year is to read more so with that in mind which ones do you all recommend? I have Matthew Perrys and Tom Felton’s on my TBR already (big fan of both Friends and Harry Potter)
ETA a quick google has informed me a memoir is in fact different to an autobiography so to avoid confusion I would take recommendations for both![]()
I did read an advance copy of The Third Gilmore Girl and found it a little disappointing, I'd have liked more depth and could have read a whole book on her early career/ Broadway if more fully written.
One memoir I do recommend absolutely is Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner. it's a must. If you can read about sa then Know My Name by Chanel Miller also.
