her words are so beautiful.I don’t think I’ve got any suggestions for Caffeine Fiend but I just dragged myself out to the supermarket. Whilst there I decided to drop some yarn and craft books to the charity shop as they’ve been sitting in my boot. I then had a browse of the book section and came away with all of these for £4. I then fancied treating myself to a Costa and so I took the Fredrik Backman into the coffee shop. I haven’t read any of his yet but I have loads in my TBR on kindle. I only read one chapter then came home but I loved it and think I’m going to settle down with it after the rest of my chores.
Britt-Marie is a really strange book but I did love it. I found her really endearing by the end. His writing style is quite odd so just to warn you but it will likely grow on you.

I love a book with an interesting character so I think it will draw me in quite quickly.
I'm the same if I have a series as I always keep them together and here on this shelf you can see all 12 books from the Shipyard Girls series.
God our library is tit. I swear to god nobody there knows anything about books. I'm watching a YT video NYC vlog and the girl was reading the sequel to The House In The Cerulean Sea - which I haven't read. As I am not sure if I will like it and it's a kids book etc I think oh I don't want to spend money on it I'll get it from the library.. Our large London boroughs library system doesn't have it. It's a massive book in the YA world and is all over the Internet and I even think it's one of those TIKTOK things.
What is going on? Do the buyers know nothing or pay attention to what is going on in the world etc? At the very least I'd expect someone in the library system to gen up on whats out and popular. When I worked for HMV and Our Price records we had in company bulletins and meetings to tell the staff what trends are, whats being released and even what the music in certain adverts is in case ppl ask for it.

Just finished The Saint of Lost Things by Trish Delaney. Bleak but well written. It finally brought me to reach my Goodreads reading challenge, which has taken me much longer this year.

Our library is amazing. They change displays by the doors frequently for new or themed reads. They had a tiktok made me read it display at one point. We can reserve a book that’s at another library in the city and collect it from our nearest one. We have BorrowBox which although it’s not great you can request them to add a book to the collection.
Completely irrelevant to anyone else but a trip to the library always makes me think of my dad as he used to take me with him when I was little.
I’m in Aberdeenshire and my local libraries are fab. All the staff are readers and so helpful with recommendations. They have themed book displays and it’s easy to order the books you want. I love the libraryMove to Aberdeen

I remember when we could borrow your ebooks and I always thought yours had a better selectionI’m in Aberdeenshire and my local libraries are fab. My local library is very good like this too. They often have the newer books in but even if they didn’t you can request they order it. I can get books transferred from other libraries in the borough, and they have a book of the month stand and usually place a themed section of reads together near the front.Move to Aberdeen

It’s a shame not all libraries are as good as each other, as that can be a wonderful resource in the community. I guess it’s about the local council though and how much funding they’re willing to put into it. Often community hubs like this are massively undervalued.
I was chatting about this the other day and the other person said "you've got to hope your Council Leader likes reading", as their library resource centre was shut down, despite it being heavily used by the community.

I watch Mercy's Bookish Musings on YT and every single time I am gobsmacked as to how she has a much better library is Norfolk than I have in a large West London boroughI’m in Aberdeenshire and my local libraries are fab. This. Our huge 6 floor borough hub library is being shut down and moved to a few shelves in the local council building. Yes there were protests.. I have seen a lot of branch libraries in other areas I have used due to working in the area n the past have been shut down. Our Councill and Mayors have always made a huge song and dance about how much they love and believe in libraries and keeping them open etc which made this come as a complete shock. And it was all done on the sly... nobody knew . I live round the corner and nobody asked the residents. You should have been at the Council meeting when one Councillor stated they had sent emails and polled local residents and everyone they had emails for which was utter bull as the entire public were yelling back including myself that they had not recieved a damn thing.

We use Libby, IIRC Aberdeen uses Borrowbox? Can you still borrow books from the other library? I.e Aberdeenshire members can borrow books from Aberdeen library and vice versa?I remember when we could borrow your ebooks and I always thought yours had a better selection
No I don’t think you can anymore since we moved to BorrowBox
