oh i prefer them on Kindle because that way when I go visit my partner in NYC i have all my recipes with me well a lot of them anywayI'm not bothered about the colour kindle as I actually don't care about book coversthe main thing that I find can be better about physical books is being able to easily go back to different bits. Like when I didn't finish The Romanovs as on kindle I couldn't easily flip back to the family tree and started getting really confused with the different names. Or like once I bought a recipe book on kindle, never again
I’m catching up with Tuesdays “Between the Covers”. The book they’re discussing this week is All the Colours of the Dark which I know a few of you have read and enjoyed. It’s on my TBR list

All Fours by Miranda July (Sara Pascoe’s fave) - annoyed cos I had it from the library but didn’t get round to it in time and it needed returning as someone else has reserved it. Hearing it discussed in more detail it sounds even more interesting to me!
And Alan Davies’ favourite is Will & Testaments - a Nordic book which sounds very interesting about family’s and childhood abuse

The Plight Before Christmas by Kate Stewart is 99p.
It is a festive romance book but there is a plot and its not overly spicy (from what I recall) the side characters are well written and its small town cosy feels. Second chance romance.

Oh I so much want one of these. I’m really glad you love it. I love the signature so I know when I finally get the colour kindle I too will love it.
I have been a "normal" paperwhite fan for a while but the signature really is something else isn't it?
I'm currently reading a book about the secret lives of booksellers and librarians. I've come to a bit where they mention mail order clubs like the book of the month club and the Literary Guild. It's American but I'm sure we had something similar in the UK, but my brain cells aren't playing ball. 
After my recent rant about book clubs, it mentions one where teenagers turn up and just talk to each other about the books that they like. I would have loved that, but they would probably have had to muzzle me so I didn't dominate the conversation.

Sounds like the usual kind. Get a book to read and then discuss. I hate being told what to read, or feel like I'm being forced to read something I don't like, when I could spend the time reading something I did.
If it was a club where you talked about the books you'd read that you really liked I would probably come home with a massive stack of recommended books to add to my tbr pile and then one day it would topple over and kill me cos it was so big.

Wow, in the book I'm reading, mentioned up thread, it talks about Lee Child flying in for the funeral of a bookseller amongst others, and the author Isabel Allende stepping in to run a bookshop as the owner was off sick!

I'm hearing a lot of negaive reviews of Blue Sisters if it helps. I do have Hello Beautiful off Netgalley but it hasn't appealed enough to pick up yet and TBH idk why I applied for it.

I saw an online interview she did for the Hay festival.. shes a riot. I love her even more now
they’re similar in that they’re both loose little women retellings (which is probably why they get linked together). i enjoyed hello beautiful more than blue sisters, but liked them both very much. blue sisters is just let down by a weak ending imo.
