I recently rewatched Desperate Housewives and I was surprised at how many storylines I came back to me as I was watching!
If you asked me what happened in Desperate Housewives since the show was cancelled in 2012 and before I rewatched it 2023, I would have struggled to say anything. And I loved that show!

I tend to subconsciously categorise into books with some depth to get stuck into and pure entertainment and then try and balance having one of each on the go.
I'm another whose favourite of the year so far is Weyward.
I'm apparently deep in my fantasy era having read a bunch in the last month. I will say I lean more towards romantasy than high fantasy and prefer real life with a hint of fantasy/magic hence Weyward and ninth house.
Im currently reading Tress and the Emarald sea and whilst I like it I think its a bit too 'fantasy' if that makes any sense. Certainly not going to be rushing to read any more Brandon Sanderson (at least not yet
).

I’ve just finished The Good Samaritan by John Marrs - tough read but was a page turner for sure. It was my first Marrs book and I have the family experiment in my library too so that might be next!

Welcome to the John Marrs fan club - we accept all new members. For The Family Experiment it can totally be read as a standalone story however it mentions plot points from some of his previous books and it might be worth reading those first to get the full picture. The Passengers and The One are ones that out of all of his books really interlink into The Family Experiment.
Just finished At the Table by Claire Powell. Such a great read. So realistically written. Giving it 5*.

I saw this and it applies to me. I read ACOTAR sceptically at first and enjoyed it. Now I'm reading Fourth Wing and have other romantasy books in my TBR...

I definitely forget books very quickly. Even someone said here the other day about coho reminders of him and I had to go on my Goodreads as I couldn't remember what it was about, I finished it on the 24th June
once I read the blurb it all came back to me though. On the bright side, I can re-read books I love multiple times
though I do remember the ones I really like a lot more. A lot of books I read are just ok to read but nothing I think about once I'm done with it
Hello, I’m new to this thread I just treated myself to a new kindle in the Amazon sale as my previous one was about 14 years old and was painfully slow (still amazed it lasted that long though!)
I finished Big Swiss by Jen Beagin last night and I thought it was fantastic. It made me properly laugh but it also had some really dark and disturbing parts too.
Some other books I’ve recently given 5 stars to:
- Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield
- Weyward by Emilia Hart
- I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman
- Sunset by Jessie Cave
- Rouge by Mona Awad
