I’ve just finished Malibu Rising. I’ll spoiler my thoughts as I know a few people have mentioned reading it and don’t want to spoil anything.

I feel a bit meh about it? The first half I loved. It felt really nostalgic and I was enjoying getting to know the characters. The second half just came off the boil for me. There were loads of random backstories for party goers, none of them particularly likeable. Then it just ended. I felt like things weren’t really resolved and it was all a bit rushed. Overall it was a solid read as I like TJR’s style but not my favourite. I quite fancy learning to surf though!

I’m moving onto The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren next, sticking with my holiday theme 😎
I really enjoy The Unhoneymooners, it was a quick read :)

really didn’t like the catch, I’m reading trust me at the moment, it’s dragging a bit 🙈 but seems like an interesting plot so I’m sticking with it for now!

this makes me feel better 😂😂 I’ve never had anyone agree with me on this, so I thought it was me 😂
Im starting to think TJR is good with coming up with an interesting plot (same with Malibu) but lacks the talent to give it any depth in the end. But again, that could be totally just me.
That is interesting - Evelyn Hugo was the first I had read by this author but it sounds like Malibu is the same.
I was so enthusiastic about the first half, but then it just seemed to get bogged down in a not very interesting plotline and sort of petered out.

I finished Girl A this afternoon. It was very graphic, disturbing and not at all what I was expecting. I guessed the "villain" about two thirds in but didn't see the twist, relating to them, coming. I did have to skim some parts as it was too sickening yet it didn't stop me from enjoying the book overall.

I finished Girl A this week and it's stayed with me. Could you expand on the "villian" behind a spoiler tag?

It was only as Lex was running to the old house that I realised Evie was dead.

well that cleared up my confusion as well 😂 I thought I’d forgotten the book in a matter of months 😂

struggling towards the end of Trust Me by T.M Logan, not the best, I’ll finish it but. Ugh.

I’m also listening to Something Blue, the second book to Something Borrowed because it’s years since I’ve read it. 😂

Fired through Then She was Gone by Lisa Jewell in the last day - loved it, though I couldn’t help sobbing at the end…..while sitting on the beach with people around me, they were probably staring at me like what’s up with that weirdo 😂

About to start What She Knew.

I’m at the beach all week so hoping I can get though lots of books 😃

I’ve just begun The Pact by Sharon Bolton, I was hooked instantly. Amazon are recommending me a few of her other books, are there any good ones you would suggest?

Just finished the cancer ladies’ running club. Such a good story that despite the theme it’s based round was really enjoyable

I’ve started The Midnight Library and admittedly I’m not far in but so far I’m feeling very meh towards it. Hoping it picks up.

I finished this today (I think I need a life). Quite a short book but it was fun and a bit of escapism. Really liked it.

Just downloaded The Lucky Escape by Laura Jane Williams to read next.

Loving American Dirt but its a tough read. I can only do so much of it and then I have to put it down.
