New to this thread but SO excited to see there is a book thread!! My absolute fave trope (or genre?) is unreliable female narrator with some psychological twists and turns such that you’re not really sure what’s real or not - think Boy Parts, Other People’s Clothes (less famous but I LOVED it, would recommend). Does anyone have any other recs like that?

I'm reading Open Water and I Have Some Questions For You currently. They're both good. I Have Some Questions For You is quite unusual and gripping...I guess it's a thriller...it's pretty mysterious. I second @Carapop's comments about Acts of Desperation. Bellies is on my list - I've heard good things.
Bellies is stunning. I loved it. Its tender and raw with such flawed but lovable characters.
Started listening to Divine Rivals on BookBeat. I’m only 14% in but enjoying it so far. I had absolutely no idea what it was about but it has the most beautiful cover 
I'm reading Happy Place by Emily Henry and it's sooo much better than Book Lovers (which I didn't finish). Still wouldn't say it's a must read but it's a fun enough read and I'm invested in finding out what happens, would be a good one to take on holiday.
I want to read Magnolia Parks I've heard such good things! My library doesn't have it so was looking to buy it but the cheaper covers are so weird compared to the original ones
I know it doesn't reallllly matter and I'm being a book cover snob but the OG ones really are so much nicer.

I second Bellies, incredible book and it actually moved me beyond words. It’s really the sort of book I think is needed in todays world.
Welcome. How about Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, Magpie by Elizabeth Day, The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins? All great reads IMO.
Magnolia Parks is on Kindle Unlimited at the moment if you have one. We can be besties and sit on the Happy Place > Book Lovers bench. I have Funny Story on pre order. I am hopeful it is more HP and less BL. Also I had the exact same thoughts about Magnolia Parks. I snagged an OG cover whilst out for Mother's Day dinner which meant I then splurged on the original copies of the next 4 as I was concerned Id not be able to get them. Youre right theyre not cheap. Ive finished the first book and I don't really know how to feel. It felt like if Gossip Girl was set in London. However Magnolia is no Blair Waldorf. All the characters are super toxic. Also Magnolias 'thing' is she likes to name the brand, style and colour of every single characters outfit in every scene and honestly it got boring for me v quickly. The OG covers are US size and I presume imports which is why they cost the whole £12.99 RRP and not the standard £7.99-£9.99 for a UK print. I may be wrong there. I ended up buying from Waterstones as they were pretty much similarly priced across all websites with v little discount.
Ive got Daisy Haites the 2nd in the series to read now but have got library books to read first.
OMG yes! I don’t know why she couldn’t just name the clothes in the odd scene as a reminder that was ‘her thing’. I noticed a couple of Americanism that annoyed me more than they should have done lol

overall.Really interested to know what you think of Open Water. It was my Burts Books Secret Santa book and I had great intentions of reading it over the Christmas/New Year break. Needless to say it’s still sitting unread on the shelf!
Just finished The Last Mrs Parrish and loved it! I’ve had it on my Kindle for ages after hearing it recommended loads but never really fancied it based on the cover. I absolutely raced through it and my mind was blown when the narrative switched to Daphne’s perspective and we found out the truth about Jackson.
Yes 3.75 is about what Id rate it. I gave it 3.5 on storygraph and 4 on GR. (Hate they only have whole numbers)OMG yes! There’s a sequel, The Next Mrs Parrish, coming out in June and I can’t wait because the first one was the exact sort of thriller that I couldn’t put down.

The two other unreliable narrator books that I remember reading recently have already been suggested - Magpie and Penance. I preferred Penance.
I was just excited that you mentioned Other People's Clothes. I read it last year after picking it up randomly. I'd never heard of it and found it compelling!
