For a brief moment this morning I thought Wild Love by Elsie Silver came out today but alas one more sleep! I dnf’d quite a few KU romances last month and I just want a reliable cowboy romance.

Im reading Reckless at the moment and honestly I thought Jasper was it but Theo is something else.
Elsies books always look lovely on the bookshelf so I think I'll buy Wild Love in physical form.

I finished Where the crawdads sing this morning. I thought it was quite nicely written, loved all the nature stuff.
I am glad I read it, and the nature stuff was very evocative.
Still have a ton of other books on the TBR pile so not sure what it will be next. Finished the majority of my physical books but tons loaded on the kindle so need to plan what I fancy reading on holiday at the end of may. Can’t decide whether a little life is a holiday read for me or not! I don’t fancy being miserable on holiday (but it’s massive so time off work might be the time to start it?)
I don’t know why it didn’t open with the court scenes though? It should have done a jumping timeline imo - the court scenes were the most interesting and gripping bit of it and it took a while for me to get into the book, I think it would have been more compelling that way. I am genuinely glad she actually ended up murdering the bloody head anyway. Bit weird when her husband was like ‘her favourite poet, I didn’t like the poems myself. Oh SHE was the poet. I laughed out loud at that bit.

I agree with you. I probably would have enjoyed the book a lot more if it was split timeline.
The film does that more from what I remember.

I am cross with myself. I found a hard backed signed copy of A Terrible Kindness in the charity shop and I didn't buy it. I am regretting that now I'm home. On the plus side I went into The Works picked up some books, told myself I didn't actually need any more books and put them back!

Hello! Really trying to read more these days - used to be a voracious reader, then had a child and I died of tiredness. I am reading again though, slowly but surely. I’m just about to start The Whalebone Theatre.
I usually enjoy contemporary literary fiction type books, often disappointed by (not on purpose promise) anything that ends up being massively overhyped, also as a throwback to my English Lit degrees enjoy some classics, Dickens, and have a penchant for medieval poetry though I admit that is not top of my current reading list.
My husband is a science fiction fan and I had never read anything in that genre before but I’m 3 books into “The Expanse” series of books (if anyone is familiar with the TV series) and I’m really enjoying them. They’re really character driven and it’s like just a coincidence it’s set in space.
