Something about Emily Henry's books are exactly my cup of tea and I've thoroughly enjoyed all three. She has a new one called Happy Place out at the end of the month!

But I'm also an advocate for a dnf & so think you definitely shouldn't continue Book Lovers if you're not enjoying it @marjan ! There's so many books in the world it's not worth wasting your time on one you don't like.

After asking you all for suggestions on what to pick to read next I have failed to start either of my top two options (MIAL and Ghosts) 😅 Hoping to get some reading done over the Easter Bank Holiday though.

I know I go on about it regularly but I’ve just discovered a new DCI Kett book by Alex Smith was released a couple of days ago and it’s made me so happy 🥰

Now off to look at the new Kindle deals…

Oh and I am an outlier on here. I really liked The Power and gave it 4 stars 😅🤣

Currently reading The Other Woman by Sandie Jones.

I'm around 8 chapters in and it's got potential to be a good thriller.

Does anyone else finish a book and it was so good you’re kind of sad to start a new one? I’ve just finished project Hail Mary and wow definite 5 star 😁
But I have so many books to start and I just can’t? I don’t want to let go of Hail Mary yet, maybe I’m just weird 😂

I ordered this yesterday! You’ll have to let me know your thoughts mate 😍

I need to hang my head in shame. I started the year with 133 books on my various TBR piles between audio, physical and kindle.

Ive got almost 30 on my read list for this year and my TBR is 134. I have no idea how this happened. Feel like Ive not bought many books 🥴
Same!!

Yes! This was me with Beartown/Us Against You when I read them back to back years ago. I can still feel it now when I think about them.

here you are!
Thanks!

Just picked up Cleopatra and Frankenstein, it's started strongly! Up next is 'Thrown' by Sara Cox next, I like her and sounds like this could be a nice gentle read
I started C&F this morning too. Influenced by this thread. I downloaded it from the library as I'm jetlagged and woke up really early while everyone else was sleeping. Enjoying it so far!

I’ve just hit my 100 day reading streak!! In 2021 I made it my New Year’s resolution to start reading again, then this year I made it to read everyday. Last year I read 56 books and this year I’m already at 29! Don’t think I would’ve stuck to it at times without this thread. Always grateful for the chats, reviews and recommendations 🥰
Congrats! I am on day 67 so inching closer to triple digits.
I fell off the reading bandwagon when I went back to uni as a mature age student. I only read 6 books last year and this year (I set a goal for 12) I have read 28! I am actually enjoying the satisfaction of people going “you’ve read how many books?!”.

I’m the exact same. It’s not often I give a book 5 stars, but when I do it’s always followed by a book hangover 😭
I read Scandalised by Ivy Owens (she’s Lauren from Christina Lauren) last week. It was so smutty and right up my street 😂 I’m really struggling to get into another book now!

Just started The Trees by Percival Everett- picked it up from my local independent bookshop last summer and only just got round to picking it up. Even though it was nominated for the booker prize, it feels like it could do with a really good edit. I’m about 50 pages in and noticing a lot of spelling and grammatical errors

Have to let me know what you think when finished.

I read it for my bookclub last year and it was a very mixed bag of opinions!

Finished The Herd tonight and just found the whole book a bit meh if I’m honest. I like the idea behind it but the cliffhanger at the end was an anticlimax and felt very rushed.

It’s pay day tomorrow so I’m going to get stocked up with some of your juicy recommendations from here! Will show my haul when it arrives 😁 I’ve still got tonnes on my TBR pile on the shelf but it’s all looking a bit literary luvvie right now and I want something heavier to break up the light reads.
Oh no I've got The herd in my 'to read' pile.

My March Reads / Listens

2 were kindle reads. The rest were audiobooks. But, they will still count towards my A-Z challenge.
Oh I like Jane Fallon books.

I have 3 chapters of Cleopatra and Frankenstein to go. I don’t want it to end 😭 although seems like a few of us are reading it so I’m excited to discuss!!
