I liked it so much. It was better than the other book in the series I think!

Saw this. Thought of us.
I feel seen! I'm really hoping 2023 I find my groove and love of reading again. I miss being as involved in this thread!

Side note - Is anyone doing any reading challenges next year? I've seen the Popsugar one but not come across many others.

Finally got round to reading Cleopatra and Frankenstein by Coco Mellors and absolutely adored it. Ticked all my book boxes.

Her next novel Blue Sisters is coming in 2024...*waits impatiently*

Reading When The World Came to Town - 38 planes landed in Newfoundland when US airspace closed on 9/11 and how they coped with 7,000 people

I saw the musical Come From Away earlier this year which tells the same story. It was brilliant so think I’ll definitely be adding this one to my TBR!

What are some fun, festive books you’d recommend? I’m trying to get through the Christmas bookshop but HATE the narrator’s voice in the audio version.

I am in a total slump. I read The First Day of Spring by Nancy Tucker and loved it. Now I feel like whatever comes next will be pointless after that book.

I started 'A Woman Is No Man' by Etaf Rum this morning. I am absolutely hooked. Im listening on audible and the narration is good.

I havent finished it but so far I would really recommend it.

I started The Final Girl Support Group this morning. Haven’t gotten very far but I’m looking forward to properly getting stuck in. Hoping for good things.

I finished The Christmas Postcards by Karen Swan this morning and although it wasn't my fave Karen Swan, it was great. Not particularly festive though (surprising given the title). Still a solid 4*s for me and a good ending

Loved this book!

There's a few 99p deals that caught my eye today, To Paradise is in there, it's had quite mixed reviews though. Stone Blind by Natalie Hynes is there as well for anyone who likes Greek myth retellings!

I read it last year and loved it too, broke my heart a million times over

“You know what’s strange?” Deya said after a moment. “What’s that?” “What are the odds that me, you, and my mother would all love to read?” “It’s not strange at all,” Sarah said. “It’s the loneliest people who love books the most.”

Interesting (surprising) selection!

The judges for the Booker Prize 2023 are revealed today, December 13. Novelist Esi Edugyan, twice-shortlisted for the Booker Prize, will chair the panel and will be joined by Adjoa Andoh, actor, writer and director; Mary Jean Chan, poet, lecturer and critic; James Shapiro, Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University and author specialising in Shakespeare; and Robert Webb, actor and writer.

I have made the new thread. See you all there!
