Yeah I don’t understand the rules of tennis at all. That’s how I felt reading queens gambit- I don’t understand chess eitherI started it but was actually really disappointed. Sounds stupid when it's about tennis but all the tennis was boring me

I’ve just finished Three Hours by Rosamund Lupton about a school shooting but at a British school rather than American. It was a pretty good quick read, some things a bit predictable but enough that I wasn’t expecting to make it tense!

Definitely stick with The Most Fun We Ever Had. I loved it. Xsame! i think sport is a difficult thing to try and depict on the page anyway, but tjr didn’t seem to write with any genuine love of tennis, rather that she was writing about a character who happened to be a tennis player (if that make sense) - it made all the game descriptions dull for me and that was tricky considering it was the crux of the book.
i’m reading the most fun we ever had by claire lombardo and am finding it a little overwritten! it’s the last of my summer reads before i start my autumn reads pile (yes i’m very behind!) so i’m keen to finish it but struggling.
