Bikini Waxing

I really want to get a Brazilian bikini wax post lockdown. Previously I’ve had quite tame bikini waxes with underwear left on and have experienced angry red spots in the areas that have been waxed. I’ve got fair, freckly skin and wonder if I’m just not the right skin type to tolerate such an invasive wax. Or would a specialist bikini waxer (using Perron Rigot wax) be ok?

Would really appreciate hearing others experiences!

I think for Brazilian they use honey wax, i have been told it is better and causes less trauma. I would get some aloe Vera gel to use after waxing as hopefully that will help.

I used to do intimate waxing and my best advice is to find a salon that does Lycon hot wax. It only removes the hair and not the layer of skin like strip wax does, hence why you've probably had the angry red spots.

It's the best wax I've ever used and always get it done before holidays etc so I'd recommend that over anything!

Did they use strip wax on you? Having some red bumps under the skin can be quite common for some people post waxing and typically can go away in a few hours. Its hard to know if you had folliculitis or a hive type break out.

For any intimate waxing Id advise using hot wax. As above lycon is an amazing wax. Also love waxperts hot wax, they use a barrier oil on the skin before applying the wax. Causes less trauma to the skin.
Make sure you have a patch test, wear loose clothing including underwear.

I second this, Lycon hot wax is the best! Uncomfy as they pull but as soon as it’s off it doesn’t hurt. So quick and hairs grow back sparse and not as thick!

Reigniting this thread. I want to have a bash at giving myself a Brazilian. I’ve only ever used the pre waxed strips before. Please can anyone give any advice and pointers on what to wax to buy etc

Don’t do it 😅 I have a Mylee wax kit and made the mistake of trying to do my own bikini line. I was only trying it out but it was SO painful and messy, I instantly regretted it lol!

I gave myself an all-over at home there this past week. I would regularly go to a salon pre-babies and Covid lockdowns. I now have 2 babies and waxing just got away from me. Couldn't stand it anymore so bought a hot wax pot, well, 2 different kinds actually, and did it myself. Yes parts hurt but they hurt me when someone else did it. Also I could stop for breathers 🤣 Definitely happy I did it.

So I'm going for a Brazilian tomorrow, the first time in about 3 or 4 years after a bad experience. Any tips on making this less painful girls?

No advice other than to try and relax. What wax do they use? I have a Hollywood wax and they use lycon (where it also the wax strip, no paper things involved), it doesn't hurt but doesn't tickle either itkwim🤣

Agree, definitely try to relax, hopefully your therapist will put you at ease, mine just chats away and before I know it she’s sorting out the bit between my bum cheeks and we’re done!
also don’t be embarrassed, mine has a right hunt around making sure all the hair is gone. Try to avoid hot showers/baths or sweating too much for about 24 hours afterwards. I always have a cool shower and just rub a bit of baby oil over it as helps get rid of any sticky residue.

They have listed it as "toffee wax" on the booking system, so I'm guessing it's the type where they don't use the strips of paper.

I've never had a wax with the strip things so have nothing to compare it too, I'm a bit of a weirdo and I like the feel of it 🤣

Totally get why they would describe it as toffee
