I really want to get a Brazilian bikini wax post lockdown. Previously I’ve had quite tame bikini waxes with underwear left on and have experienced angry red spots in the areas that have been waxed. I’ve got fair, freckly skin and wonder if I’m just not the right skin type to tolerate such an invasive wax. Or would a specialist bikini waxer (using Perron Rigot wax) be ok?

Would really appreciate hearing others experiences!
I used to do intimate waxing and my best advice is to find a salon that does Lycon hot wax. It only removes the hair and not the layer of skin like strip wax does, hence why you've probably had the angry red spots.

It's the best wax I've ever used and always get it done before holidays etc so I'd recommend that over anything!

Went for my first Brazilian wax today and all I can say is.. ouch. I can’t even call it a Brazilian as I tapped out and got a ‘high bikini’ wax. Was not prepared for how much it was going to hurt, I cried!!

Sensitive question: is waxing ok for *ahem*, mature women? I'm 57, and I'm heartily sick of shaving. I like swimming, but I'm very dark-haired and it's a nightmare trying to remove it from everywhere. I'm fairly "bendy" for my age, but trying to shave right underneath is getting more awkward as the years pass. Not to mention that my eyes are going and I can't see what I'm doing in the shower!
(Sorry if it's TMI, but this seems like a safe space! 😂)

Likely a really stupid question from me here but... Do you wear no knickers while they do the wax, not even disposable ones?
Does the therapist see your vagina?

I've always shaved in the summer pre bikini, but I inevitably get angry red bumps and sick of it. I'm very hairy and dark - must be my Mediterranean heritage
I’ve had a Hollywood wax and wore no underwear. It was a lady training that did it (so it was cheaper 😅) and there was another lady that came in to check on her now & again, I was a bit shy at first but it was a proper waxing salon that I went to so it was something they saw everyday. They were both very professional and friendly.

It's a bit the pain, but mostly the thought of the therapist seeing my lady bits! I'm strange about this even in the showers in the gym I don't like other gals seeing my bits
Oh, honestly, the therapist really - genuinely- won’t give two hoots. They see them all day long!!!!!! Don’t let that stop you! A good bikini wax is such a game changer

I second this, Lycon hot wax is the best! Uncomfy as they pull but as soon as it’s off it doesn’t hurt. So quick and hairs grow back sparse and not as thick!

So you know if it’s longer than a grain of rice, do they trim before they wax?!
Ive never admitted this to anyone before. I went through a bad mental health stage about 5 years ago. Nothing major as MH goes, but just gave up on myself a bit. No waxing or shaving legs for probably 5 months (im fair so not very noticable and it was winter). Got my act together and went for a wax. Never thought about length or anything. She got the scissors out and i nearly had a stroke out of pure embarassment 🤣 at that point it struck me just how hairy my legs were!! Gave her a tenner for ger troubles and never went back again 😭

But on a serious note, dont worry, theyve seen it all (and then some!) before!

I gave myself an all-over at home there this past week. I would regularly go to a salon pre-babies and Covid lockdowns. I now have 2 babies and waxing just got away from me. Couldn't stand it anymore so bought a hot wax pot, well, 2 different kinds actually, and did it myself. Yes parts hurt but they hurt me when someone else did it. Also I could stop for breathers 🤣 Definitely happy I did it.
You’re a braver woman than me 😂

Agree, definitely try to relax, hopefully your therapist will put you at ease, mine just chats away and before I know it she’s sorting out the bit between my bum cheeks and we’re done!
also don’t be embarrassed, mine has a right hunt around making sure all the hair is gone. Try to avoid hot showers/baths or sweating too much for about 24 hours afterwards. I always have a cool shower and just rub a bit of baby oil over it as helps get rid of any sticky residue.

No knickers. They just get in the way of the wax. They normally give you a sheet of paper or a towel to cover your modesty but yes she’ll see your vagina.

I’ve been waxing since I was 18 and am now 30. I would never ever do anything else, it stresses me out when my friends tall about shaving their pubes, mainly cos I think they’re missing out on having such a smooth vagina 😂 sugar waxing is the best IMO

Bringing this back as tonight will be my 4th full hollywood wax. I had to shave after my second one as i couldnt get an appt and it was awful. I still feel a little embarassed but once she does the first wax im okay. Its been 2 months since my last one as i have been ill and I go away this weekend so wanted to time it right. Definitely gonna get my money's worth tonight haha

They will see pretty much everything!!!! But, it’s their job yknow - it’s what they do every day. They see many, many, many peoples vaginas/arse cracks, not to mention men’s cock & balls and arse hole when they do back/sack/crack - don’t worry about it !!

Very random advice but I find it is less painful for me if I go about a week or so after my period!

I'm with you on this. It doesn't matter that the therapist sees loads all day long it's how it makes YOU feel. I couldn't do it. I just had a bikini wax and that was too much for me. Everyone is different and have different comfort levels.

I get the Hollywood too, no knicks but I've spawned a child so have no embarrassment where my hoohah is concerned!

The lady that does mine just chats away, they are doing their job not judging your foof.

Don't worry about it 👍
