Looks like the parents are also wondering how a lawyer was afforded. 🤔

Stop moderating...you're on a gossip site
He has to take some responsibility for his ‘unwise but not illegal’ dirty little secret surely. Perhaps he should have thought about his wife and family and his high profile career before paying a young man for explicit photos. He took a risk in engaging in that type of activity, it’s now backfired. Was it really worth it? I have very little sympathy for him tbh.
Can I just remind people that we actually still don't know that this is what has happened. People are speaking like it's been confirmed.

I think the Mum was just trying her best to stop the money & by saying '17' to The Sun it made the story get reported. The young man could still be telling the truth & it not be from a payoff etc

I'm still really disturbed by the 2 members who seem determined to find HE innocent, and keep victim blaming the lad, his parents etc

It’s all so massively confusing.

I find it interesting that The Sun are saying their initial article was based on “sworn affidavits made by the parents”. They say they have seen evidence to support claims made, but as far as I can tell haven’t specified what evidence they’ve actually seen. If they’ve built most of their article around these sworn affidavits then it seems really foolish even by the Sun’s standards.

I find it bizarre the parents have even gone to the press to discuss their adult son’s private life. If they thought something illegal had gone on they should have reported it to the police.

Whatever happens if the presenter hasn’t done anything illegal then the parents have potentially ruined his life. And no doubt have damaged their relationship with their son forever. IMO if the son is a victim then this story is his to tell (if he ever wants to tell it), but instead the story’s forced into the limelight and he’s been rushed into dealing with it before he may even be ready. He may be denying it purely out of fear and for his parents to put him in this position is wrong. I feel really sad for him - people may find out his identity and then he’s revealed as potentially being gay, potentially being a drug addict, potentially having been a victim of abuse…it’s just so wrong that the parents have done this rather than go through the proper channels.

If sexually explicit photos have been sent of a 17year old to someone it’s illegal, and they should be prosecuted.
All we have to support that is the questionable words of a mother who went to The Sun instead of the police.

The lack of police involvement even after they were made aware is relatively telling for me.

If it's not true, why the suspension? The Sun must've made the BBC aware of the evidence they have, and possibly shared it with them. As someone said earlier, why did the young person wait until now to say it's not true? Why let so many people be thrown under the bus over the last 72 hours?
Why would a supposed caring mother very concerned about drug use tell such lies? Why hasn't Huw made a statement as no one elses name is being bandied about anymore? None of it makes any sense!

ETA: Agree with poster who said this could be a distraction. But why ruin the career of a much beloved news anchor? I just don't get it.

Oh dear. I wouldn’t want to be someone with any shares in the Sun. I sense a very large lawsuit.

Kelvin Mackenzie on Sky News now saying “if the photos circulating on social media made it to the front page of the Sun, his career would be over” 👀 He and Mark Austin are dying to say the name 😂

Let’s just say that Huw hasn’t paid anyone off and this whole thing is just a fabrication stirred up by a troubled mother… Can you imagine how awful a situation Huw is in now? Career potentially ruined, dignity lost, relationship with his wife and children ruined. It doesn’t bear thinking about.
So why didn't he come out at the start and say this is all lies , I have done nothing wrong, I don't know these people.....like you would do if it was all a made up.

My phone battery is on 8%! I don't think it has ever been that low the entire time I've owned it. I also have the world's shortest charger. I'm going to be sat uncomfortably crouched by a plug socket this evening.

This situation is a mess. No doubt it will become clearer over the next few days. The police only said there wasn't an investigation yet so that doesn't mean there won't be at all. I do however still think that IF there is any truth to the allegations, regardless if the person was 17 or 18, that it's grim and he isn't somebody who should be working in the position of trust he does.

If this whole thing is a load of lies, then the most sensible action would be for the presenter concerned to say he was the one being investigated.
Admit he has been suspended and that is absolutely the correct action for the BBC to take under the circumstances and that he will cooperate fully with their enquiry. He looks forward to returning to our screens soon.

Theres no smoke without fire. Sun would not have published without zilch evidence. Parents have gone behind child's back. Now the child is probably been paid off by the said BBC presenter to say it's all rubbish.

Also is the bum picture real or ai ? Im still 🤔 confused. I'm mean if it is AI someone is a sick muthafucker. If not what where did original post come from ? Maybe the parents

So I’ve not had chance to catch ip on the last 20 pages since this breaking news but something that has made me think
1. If the story is complete BS then surely the presenter will suing the ass off the mother for defamation of character. If he does then I will believe his innocence. However if he doesn’t…
2. The Sun are surely not so stupid to run a story without solid proof. Especially since last mistakes???
Well considering the Sun said RIP to the very much alive teacher who was stabbed today, I’m not taking what they say for gospel!
