There is no way she is actually a cash buyer (uk definition) unless "mummy & daddy" are actually buying it.
I get the impression she doesn't actually have a clue and is for a massive shock when she actually applies for a mortgage

I think she will be a cash buyer for something in the region of £300k

She will have paid £0 to her parents, when she travels a lot of it has been gifted, solo must make £££. She also started before the era of ad declaration so god knows what she earnt. She had regular sponsorship and doesn’t seem to buy loads that she can’t claim back.

yeah I would imagine she has made a lot, as you said she was doing youtube for ages before the ad sponsorship rules came in and imagine earning in £ or $, living in countries where the exchange rate is very favourable, and she is also very careful with her budget when she travels

I have a hard time believing this.

In the last year, only 2 of her videos have achieved over 100k views. She only has one video whatsoever with over 1 million views (second most popular hasn’t even reached 500k). She only has 44k on Instagram.

She has been uploading for 10 years but was working temp jobs alongside travelling for a good chunk of that initial period.

To be a cash buyer of a £300,000 property, she’d have had to have brought in at least £50,000 per year for the last six years. That doesn’t include taxes, general expenditure, the impact of the pandemic etc etc.

I just can’t see her being that successful. The channel seems too small fry for all of that.

I think (myself included) we are not aware of how much much brand deals pay. On other threads I am always flawed about it, she has lived a decade without paying rent in a big city, most people who earn any money spend a huge % of their money in rent, in London it is 70% of their money in rent at this point, she is travelling, getting loads for free, and, as i said with the currency conversion, probably doing very well

I'm surprised too, maybe she claims most of her trips and flights as expenses. I know she said she wants to buy in Shoreditch which is just so expensive for a flat. I do get the sense she doesn't know what she's doing and isnt very organised (see her scatty upload schedule, or the fact she waited to the last day to do her taxes) so god knows.

She could be doing shared ownership too so she might be a cash buyer for her half

Can you rent them out though? I don’t know but I assumed there would be something to say you can’t? And she said she wants to air bnb whilst she’s away traveling

you can, I have shared ownership and (legally or not) people in my development have various flats in shared ownership for rent, there are some long term and some air bnb

Honestly I didn’t want to say anything because clearly Google proved me wrong (🤣) but I was also described as a cash buyer by an estate agent as I had no chain. V confusing

We've just bought with zero chain behind us as we're 1st timers, and there is no way on earth that we could be described as cash buyers

Is there maybe a difference in the UK and elsewhere? I was 100% sure cash buyer meant no mortgage, I boguht my flat with no chain and was never described as a cash buyer (I wish!)
Just watching her latest video in Perth, does it irrationally annoy anyone else that she describes covid restrictions in the hopsital as "annoying"? I hardly think limiting visitor numbers in a place where people are vulnerable is a bad thing

So she has no respect or concern for the hospital staff and patients? Why does she sound like such a closet red neck? Like seriously

And I haven’t watched it but has she even thought about what the covid restrictions were here? Like come on

Her most recent video was extremely boring.

A time lapse of her tidying her parents’ back bedroom, then an ad about a map company, followed by random footage of her going for a walk and buying a Costa Coffee, then her reading out the fitness statistics of said walk from her phone (who cares?) before some airy fairy privileged self-care nonsense about post-travel blues.

Of course the volunteering in Spain was going to be an ad/sponsored/paid opportunity.
