It wouldn't surprise me if some of the people here were involved in making Baby Reindeer.

Yes, we all joined Tattle many years ago and over several years we’ve made posts gossiping about various celebrities/influencers, which we really had no interest in, just as a cover story purely so that when we worked on Baby Reindeer in “real life” (several years later) we could post on a thread about it and hope we’d go undiscovered!

And it would’ve worked if it wasn’t for you, you pesky kid!

I think a few things can be true, Richard Gadd joked and encouraged certain behaviour but he was still a victim of being stalked and his family being harassed and that the real Martha is vulnerable and alone but is also a stalker and a very unkind person.

Surely anyone questioning Gadd's narrative has to see how unreliable Fiona Harvey is as a witness. He's told his story, he was largely sympathetic to some really unpleasant people (while putting his own dubious actions out for all to see).

Also anyone coming out of the shadows now to claim their fee for their "story" has to be treated with a fairly large pinch of salt!? So far we've had an actress who was turned down by him and a barmaid who says FH sat at a table rather than the bar and confirmed the misogyny rife at the Hawley Arms which Gadd had already portrayed in the show.

The woman sounds like she tries to minimize what Fiona/Martha has done.

Edit: I came here to say that Piers Morgan gets on my nerves, he is clearly pushing very hard the narrative that Netflix/Gadd lied about her being jailed, when Netflix had disclaimers showing that some parts are fictionalized and when Gadd said it before the show aired too, he is completely ignoring these things and seems more concerned about how the offender can strike back than about the offenders actions. What a scumbag.

I think there will be a legal team that will believe or are confident that there will be a case that she could potentially win or settle outside of court due to the fact Chris Daw kc compiled a statement that was sent to the press. I think it's shocking if she does benefit financially from a crime she has committed (even if she's not convicted). Like I've said before people have their opinions on Richard Gadd but that doesn't take away from the fact he, his family and even other people have been victims of her abusive, obsessive and stalking behaviour. It's so careless that netflix didn't take extra precautions to produce the series with the correct wording that would protect Gadd from the current backlash and potential legal action. I would hate to know someone who caused me harm and distress was able to monopolise on it. She doesn't deserve acknowledgement, never mind a payout. People found her due to tweets, but she came out shouting that Martha isn't her, but it is her. She put herself at the centre and loved every minute of it. She's enjoyed the attention from social media and the mainstream media. It would be really sad for Richard if she was to financially benefit from the harm she caused him. I would also love to see every victim of her emails come out and expose them.

Irrespective of what people online did re. her old tweets and identifying her, SHE came out and said that the show was about her... and then said that she is not Martha...



Artistic license covers everything Gadd and Netflix did with regards to the show.

I’m giving serious side eye to anyone who seems to prefer anything this woman says over Gadd’s account that he has already said isn’t all true for a tv drama. Like the kind of people who can sympathise with this woman can’t be normal either. She is fucking awful. I think all the attention is only fuelling her as she’s getting more and more awful with the things she’s saying

I think the only reason Fiona Harvey commented publicly on her facebook page is to stand up for herself. Why is so much fuss made about her, than the apist who did more harm? Although Gadd being on so many drugs probably affected his memory too, and he admitted he liked the attention from her and led her on. I hope she sues them, as the ironic thing is that she's now the one being stalked and harassed.

You do realise that her MO is stalking people.....and more and more people are coming out of the woodwork to back this up. She told Piers Morgan that she had deactivated her FB......which, she should've done and then kept away from social media...she can't help herself! She's coming across as more deranged than BR portrayed her!

According to Richard Osmand on The Rest Is Entertainment podcast it's quite difficult under English Law to prove libel.


As I have zero knowledge of law practice, I'll take his word for it! Unless one of the knowledgeable Tattlers can clarify?

It is very difficult and usually only successful when you're a celebrity or large business owner etc. It's not enough that someones lies about you - you have to show you've lost something that gives rise to damages. In my opinion Fiona has not. She does not have work or a livelihood to lose. She is not a public figure who might lose work such as Johnny Depp. As has also been pointed out over and over again, neither Gadd nor Netflix have said Fiona is Martha, even now. Truth is a defence to defamation, anything about stalking I expect will be covered under that. People keep saying it's not enough that Netflix said 'it's a true story' with some other statement at the end - without being a media lawyer, I would really expect that the Netflix legal team either knows enough about media law to know they've sufficiently covered themselves, OR they have already built a realistic quantum settlement into the budget for the show, on the basis that this has all riled up a lot of attention for the platform.

The only other thing I would say is look carefully at who is saying they will take on Fiona's case or that she has a case. Look at what kind of work Chris Daw KC does, look at the fact Piers Morgan keeps asking American lawyers out of our jurisdiction to comment, look VERY carefully at how the statements from lawyers in this jurisdiction are framed - in my opinion, they all want the public to think she has a case, but if you read between the lines, it's a different story. Not helped by people going 'what about duty of care' (duty of care has limits, it doesn't apply to everyone you'd think it might and it has a strict test to determine where it does apply or not) and 'what about her reputation' (again means something different legally than you'd think).

You don't take a case against someone who rapes you. You report it to the police and the CPS decides if there's a realistic prospect of conviction. Rape convictions have a very low success rate. IMO, Gadd doesn't and didn't ever intend to start that process off. In broadcasting this show, he won't get a fair trial as the jury would likely have seen the show and his role in continuing to go back to the guy's house and that knowledge would play a role in their decision. That's if it ever even got in front of a jury anyway, which I doubt for the same reason

I totally agree! In reality, she’s way nastier than RG ever portrayed her to be! I sincerely hope she lands herself in trouble over the vile comments she’s making about people! She’s on nasty piece of work and will continue to stalk people as long as she’s able to!

As stated in the past few threads, people have found the real "Martha" aka Fiona Harvey but please don't message or interact with her as it is not in your best interests. Her posts are full of Islamophobia, racism and homophobia. She also downplays and questions other's experiences of sexual assault and rape so generally not a pleasant read.

Shw appears to disappear from and reappear on Facebook which is perhaps to temporary bans.
