Yup!! Especially in Sydney and Melbourne. I’m shocked you can get somewhere for as low as $112! Even when we first had a child in childcare seven years ago it was $125. Now we pay $152 and supply food. I’m not in a major city either ‍

Are people seriously paying that much a day

in Adelaide we have some centres that would at max about $140 a day these are your more “elite” places but the franchise chain type ones average around $112 a day
Typically pay more where everything is supplied and less if you suppose nappies or your own lunches and there is also family day care

Also you moron people with 3 kids under school age typically find it cheaper to get a nanny than use child care

alsoalso surely you would know you would be very close to the subsidy threshold - alot of Australians get it but not everyone because they earn too much

Also she's missing the point that for many families both parents don't work full-time. It just doesn't work out financially and also time wise to work full time. Life changes in every single way when you have a baby. The cost of child care for your child and weighing up if you can even return to work is just one factor!

Seeing her with her eyelash extensions, regular brow appointments, the manicures - and looking like the penny is dropping about how expensive children are... it's not an add-on. I've said previously, all priorities change - unless you can afford to continue living the same lifestyle just with children.

Does anyone know what the story with this is with Simone Holtznagel? I forgot about her until I heard her on Life Uncut podcast. About 10 years ago, she was looking at my friend on a night out in a bit of a rude, snarky way at a restaurant (we were seated and reading the menu about to order) which made us feel uncomfortable and weirded out. She was giving off "I think I'm the most important person in the room" vibes, which is cringy and mean girl behaviour.

Victoria Divine is so exhausting. Surely she is aware of daycare costs as a financial advisor and wealth / budget expert or whatever the duck her qualifications are… This life for us regular people sis, welcome.

She’s trying to be ~relatable as she knows day care costs are a big issue among parents. Is anyone following Its Not Kate’s Time?
In July I think it was she had 12 tumours in her brain, and lots of others elsewhere in a reoccurrence of the cancer she had a few years ago.

She went to a clinic in Mexico the first time when she was told she was terminal and the doctors could only offer palliative care. After a short program (using alternative integrative medicine) she was declared Cancer Free. Now she has visited the same clinic to treat her relapse and now apparently all 12 brain tumours are gone, with just scar tissue remaining from the largest one.

pablo has been covering her story and is hugely sceptical that a clinic or even mainstream medicine could make this many rumours completely disappear in such a short amount of time. There are stories of this clinic being dodgy, people dying. Most of the theories they do there aren’t proven to be effective if safe so are banned in Australia. It also costs $60k for 3 weeks.

It’s a bit of a rabbit hole if anyone is so inclined. She announced today her no evidence of disease status hence the post.
