I’ve just came across Julia today. Listened to a couple of her videos back to back (in bed suffering with second Covid vaccination side effects) and really enjoyed them, even though I did find it a bit odd that the camera was focused on her breasts the full time. Clicked on her channel and was a bit confused by her content? It’s all over the place. Why doesn’t she have separate channels?

Can we discuss the 'spit painting' ASMR trend that is going around at the moment? It honestly makes me sick to my stomach, and definitely isn't ASMR. It's more of a fetish than a trigger. - I've seen it recently on Jake ASMR and ASMR Shanny but I've definitely seen it a few more times than that.

On a separate note, there was some talk in another thread about how people are sick of seeing sexualised ASMR (probably been discussed to death here!) and I totally agree. I miss the 'old' ASMR community in general when it was all very innocent and wasn't about who has the flashiest setup or being clickbaity or who can come up with the most outlandish content ideas and still label it 'ASMR'. It's why I generally stick to my old favourites! I did recently discover Simply ASMR and I love his videos - they're so relaxing!

I think the crystals bit is very strange because she even has multiple videos talking about her own crystal collection. That's really sad about her ex. Sounds like she's really been through it. I hope she's able to find some peace.

Very sad about MinxLaura123's mum passing away, and quite unexpectedly it would appear. I wonder whether this will see Laura regress into an even more childlike state, or perhaps it will motivate her to start living her life to the fullest and stretch her wings a bit. I hope for the best for her going forward.

I've seen her post a few things about remembering her mother. It seems like she's really struggling. I feel like given her patterns it will be regressing but people can surprise you.

I think PsycheTruth ended up doing patreon originally as they do a lot of back tickling videos that were constantly reported and demonetized. They were popular videos too so the impact was huge. They do occasionally put one out for free and I guess they can take hit now they still put out decent free content but now you can see free vs member only on their channel you can see the difference in volume.

I'll check out the recommendations - asmrvilla is a good one for tapping and talking but she does put on a bizarre British accent to disguise herself which cracks me up

I don't think I could deal with a fake accent, it'd be too distracting!

GwenGwiz had quite a lot of "subtly" sexual content - ear kissing, lingerie try ons etc but also some decent "normal" asmr content (although mostly hauls and free stuff) - I don't watch her any more because I got more the impression that she was only doing ASMR for the money because I think she's a regular YTer too (nothing wrong with this per say but that plus the content just gave me the ick) and now she's sucking dick on OnlyFans so I guess I was right haha

I loved Laura back in the early days but I feel like ASMR has moved on and she hasn't. The standard of content creation is so high now, it makes her stuff feels really budget (and not in a lo-fi chills way). Everything feels quick and rushed - so many other ASMRtists treat us to thoughtfully planned out and well-edited videos.

She approaches everything in a very childlike way. I agree she hasn't moved on. I think her parents have infantalised her,which is probably why she is so dependent on others and unable to deal with most things without having a melt down and needs constant praise.

I remember when Karuna was going after Crinkleluvin and she said in an Instagram story that if Crinkle was suicidal don’t believe her and don’t stop bullying her. This reminds me of that a lot. Any time a woman is being accused Karuna is all over it and loving it.

I REMEMBER THIS!! at the time I was so anti crinkleluvin but when karuna made an instastory about how she has used being suicidal to get out of situations before so if crinkleluvin claims to be suicidal keep pushing her.

I was so triggered by this at the time because I was bullied in school and have had those bad thoughts before and I just thought... is this how my bullies saw it? if I told them they made me feel this way would they have told me to my face that im lying?

Basically, in the space of a week, she’s gone from being a super supportive ally creator to spreading really harmful homophobic and transphobic views - all because she’s had a religious awakening.

She said she found god and started comparing queer people to pedos. She’s deleted all her queer friendly content, has started following lots of homophobic & transphobic Instagram accounts and went on some really scary rants on her tiktok (until her account got banned).

It seems like she could be having a psychotic breakdown.

I have followed Angelica for a long time and I think she is having some severe mental health problems because what she is doing right now is the opposite of who she has been for a really long time and when you listen to her talk in her latest videos, it feels very manic. I don't think people totally change like that so fast unless something happened to them. If you look at her videos on her other channel, you can kind of tell that something was going on. I really hope she has supportive people around her who can help her get better.

I discovered I really hate mouth sounds in ASMR.
Whispers Red ASMR has wonderful videos, and she seems very real, but she's constantly making smacking sounds with her mouth. UGH.
