I've been watching Maria for years and had no idea about that backstory! She has seemed lost and unsettled to me for a long time. I honestly think she'd be happier back home in Russia with her family and support network nearby. I feel for her.

lol she said she wants to buy more homes and become essentially a serial landlord and make money that way. She really cant read the room. In the U.S. people are tired of landlords taking advantage of tenants and buying affordable properties just to rent them at a high price to cover their rent and profit. its a huge problem here that people are speaking up about... sure not all landlords are like that but its not like she has no other options for income... it'll be yet another cash grab/ "hobby". plus she paid 6,000 of her couch money (lol), to get her apartment painted. is that not an insane amount of money for a two bed apartment?! just do it yourself what else are you doing?

I have been watching asmr since 2011! Watching gentle whispering since then. I really like SemideCoco. I enjoy people putting make up on them selves or others, no talking, and haircuts on others - haircut Harry is a good channel for that!

I’ve just came across Julia today. Listened to a couple of her videos back to back (in bed suffering with second Covid vaccination side effects) and really enjoyed them, even though I did find it a bit odd that the camera was focused on her breasts the full time. Clicked on her channel and was a bit confused by her content? It’s all over the place. Why doesn’t she have separate channels?
I like her ASMR videos, but apart from that I cant take her seriously, one one hand she goes on about wanting to live quite a simple life, then both she and her boyfriend buy property. She wants to be taken seriously as a creator and then posts videos of her semi naked,usually poll dancing ,claiming she wants to move away from her old life as a stripper.She has clearly always known how to get noticed, usually resorting to sexualising her behaviour. As I said,I like her ASMR but find her a bit of a hypocrite in other areas that she preaches about

All very well said. I haven't watched Laura's ASMR in a while but I remember that being a pattern that made me feel uncomfortable. It makes me sad because you know she's had some like long issues with self confidence and you just want her to see herself as we the viewers do.
A lot of asmrtists do this actually, and I feel like they've almost learned from each other that this is a way to get attention. To the point where some seem to make up issues, or bring up something from the past out of no where if they have nothing else to say. (most are very sincere though I'm sure)

Since you like Myaling, have you checked out Adora ASMR? She’s similar in her style and does some really creative things with layered sounds.

I noticed that Healing Room has been posting a lot of spa videos of different cultures and in some of her videos she acts like she is part of that culture. She has Native, Japanese, Egyptian, Chinese, etc, etc. Genuine question: is that not cultural appropriation?

It wouldn’t surprise me if she exaggerated a lot of what happened there since it got her a lot of attention. Same goes for her and Starling except we know she exaggerated that she was very public with herself bullying Starling. Every time she gets to be in the victim spot she gets a lot of attention.

Hope you feel better soon. Her ASMR is amazing, but that's about it, anything else I tend to ignore with her. At the moment I'm sick of vlogs, because I find her very pretentious and focused on showing off, whilst preaching to her followers about minimalism, healthy eating and living a simple lifestyle
