I’ve found my people!

To be honest, I am more into the smaller accounts now as I seem to prefer the lofi feel of videos. However I do still watch Latte when she uploads - her videos are insane!

I first discovered ASMR darling about 3 years ago but don’t really enjoy her new videos anymore. Same with Gibi, GraceV, Sophie Michelle, ASMR planet... I feel like I just kind of got bored and unsubscribed to them all and now I mostly watch smaller asmrtists

WhispersRed is the channel I really enjoy. The creator seems really lovely, and her content is so relaxing. And Gentle Whispering? Oh, I absolutely love her videos! Though I can see how her style might come off as a bit annoying in real life, her ASMR content is just top-notch. I totally agree with you about the issue of some creators overly sexualizing their ASMR content.

The past 18 months or so she has got worse with the begging. Now shes set up a pod cast on anything supernatural. I find her very child like and pampered,probably due to her parents who still treat her like shes 10,when shes in her 40s

Completely agree. Sticking childlike posters on the wall, relying on mummy for lifts, spending hundreds on duplo (granted adults collect lego but duplo is for children). The fringe is in desperate need of a good shampoo. Can’t imagine her partner enjoys living with “mummy”. All work together in the same office. How can you ever have any privacy. It’s all a bit “odd” and she will claim it’s her “autism”

I just find it interesting consider she’s also done quite a few videos representing the LGBTQIA+ community but this is how she’s responding. There’s a lot more to see on Twitter but I don’t feel like going through all of the threads.

??? What is there to even be mad at???? Someone spending time with kids??? Karuna seems like a really angry and hateful person. The way she's reacting to everyone is really overboard wow. Embarrassing. Rapunzel has a history of being problematic so her involving herself doesn't surprise me at all.

It must cost Latte an absolute fortune to make her videos. Green screen? Not on Latte’s watch, they’re like mini films and I have noticed others seem to have copied with little intros she does.

I finally clicked on some of LatteASMR's videos and wow, the production value is extremely high. I don't love roleplay videos all the time, but I was just amazed on how much effort she puts in.

I didn't take what she said to mean that. I thought she meant that they know something is terminal with the cat but she thought there would be a clear time to put it to sleep and there isn't. I.e they know the time is soon but at the moment it has times when it has a good quality of life

I hope so but with her now posting multiple times about feeling hatred for her cats I wouldn't be surprised if she wants to expedite putting the cat down.

This is so fucked up I can't even begin. She's said many times that she has been a victim of SA and DV but I guess it doesn't matter as long as it isn't happening to her.

I have said before that I find MinxLaura123 a bit cringey and slightly immature at times, but who the hell would be so cruel and call her ugly That's just not on. I think she's actually very attractive. Gorgeous skin, nice eyes, beautiful smile. I'd love to see her wear her hair up more, she has a nice face shape and wearing her hair pulled back would definitely accentuate that.

It's just so low for people to be calling her ugly. I feel heartbroken for her. She is one of my all time fave artists and I hope this vile trolling doesn't make her stop sharing content

I completely agree with you, but have to say, I've NEVER seen any comments calling her ugly etc, a few other people had also commented they'd never seen comments like that and asked her to either name and shame or share the messages she received, usually she ignores those requests. The only thing I can think is whoever it is, direct messages her. I do have a concern about Laura though and some of the claims she makes, probably a month ago she posted on all her social media platforms that her dad had' had a go at her', she stated he had told her she needs to grow up, stop wasting money on rubbish, stop being lazy and stop looking for attention. I think as an Asmr artist, she is good, must admit I don't follow her vlogging channel, I find the endless shopping hauls repetitive, her grocery shopping vlogs look more like she's shopping for children who are fussy water, rather than herself Nathan and her mum. Sometimes it comes across as if she puts herself and her looks down, rather than other people. From my professional experience I wonder if the insults she claims to receive are actually her own thoughts and feelings about herself, she needs people to complement and praise her, tell her she's beautiful. She openly admits to her mental health struggles, but I do wonder if low self esteem contributes to the posts about negativity. I think her parents have very much infantalised her and still treat her like a young child dispite her being in her mid 40s, I don't think she has many real life friends, so the majority of time is spent with her parents and Nathan, even he isn't as involved with her channel as much as he used to be. Laura is definitely harmless and deserves to be happy, I wish those close to her would help her rather than treating her like a child. Sometimes when someone is so vulnerable, social media isn't the best place. She seems so lonely, dispite having people around her.

I agree with you all about Be Brave! she was my favourite for the longest time, I love when ASMR is more realistic so her vids were perfect- 'normal' pace, little to no whispering, tapping, mouth sounds, etc. and she'd never try to be relaxing in the usual ASMR way. For example, there's a bag shop roleplay where she's a bit rough with the bag rather than handling it as if it's made of fragile glass, and it was so good. But with most of her recent vids now she talks in an overly slow and calm voice (I can't stand her drawn-out 'hellllllo lovvvelyyy..... how are you? ....goooooood') and everything she does is in a hushed ASMR way. It's a shame because there aren't really many people making ASMR how she was. I've watched some of her non-asmr vlogs too and I think she complains in a lot of them, she kinda comes across as a bit rude sometimes.

Does Julia have her own thread here? I was surprised she reacted so badly to the reddit post that had some really valid criticisms. Seems even more hypocritical after her new video where she completely blasted her real estate agent for being horrible at her job but said it was 'nothing personal'

I feel like she talks really badly about people often and is like "nothing personal but (rants about them)"and she doesn't leave on good terms with people shes worked with who aren't semi famous or actually famous. its really telling when someone talks about someone like that...why even bring that up.....like she tried to play off like she and Phoebe Bridgers were straight up friends and her manager didnt arrange that video... like it was a cool get but she just gives off this vibe of disingenuous - ness

I stopped watching Latte for the same reasons but watched her recent one because I like derma rolling sounds and was disappointed to see she’s started with the tongue clicks like everyone else.

Y'all are truly my people because lord god, the tongue clicking, it's UBIQUITOUS now.

I saw the funniest damn comment on one of my favorite creators' videos because someone requested a single video (in the artist's regular style, no less) with no talking and no tongue clicking. Here, I'll share it with you.

While I respect requests, the tongue clicking is really all that does it for me. I've been so happy to come across someone who uses it so often, and if you begin to not use it anymore well... I'm afraid these videos won't hold the effect on me anymore. Much as I love any ASMRtists and appreciate what they do, the content is so... similar now. Every artist does a zillion different things. I think if there were specific ASMRtists who dedicated themselves to specific types of content, they'd have a more dedicated viewership and fan base. This is just me speaking my mind really, whether it's taken to heart or not it's nothing more than my own preference.

Honestly, I would be overjoyed if I were able to see someone take constructive critique about their viewers wanting less mouth sounds/tongue stuff, or a person trying to have a discussion on how they're not wild about having everything turn into whispered storytime, whisper rambles or whisper vlogs without some genius butting in about how tHe AsMr CoMmUnItY sTaRtEd OfF aS tHe WhIsPeR cOmMuNiTy.

I know artists need to do popular topics to get views but I'm so frustrated with the lack of diversity in videos anymore. If I see one more follow my instructions video from my faves I might puke. I'm so over it! It'd be nice to have some classic roleplays to watch. I still love and watch Celaines ASMR but half her videos now are the same thing and she's transitioned to almost all fast asmr (not my thing but I know a lot of people like it). It's really helped her grow but darn it I miss her normal medical stuff! Also this is nit picky but her thumbnails give me uncanny valley. She is so incredibly beautiful, why does she edit them to the point of being unrecognizable? Maybe it's a younger generation thing? I know thumbnails need to be flashy and I've seen quite a few asmrtists getting really wild with their thumbnails (to the point where some don't even look like the actual video) so maybe Im just old

I cannot stand fast ASMR it makes me anxious. It’s like a few years ago when fast tapping was really popular. Do people sleep to that?

i agree about uncanny valley omg. I follow Celaine also and she looks like a cartoon in her thumbnails and I don’t get it because she’s really pretty so why??? There are a lot of catfish thumbs now tho like if you search ASMR roleplays but most of them are sexual and then in the actual videos they keep their shirts on. I guess it’s a way to try and get ahead of the competition.

That's an interesting possibilty. I know there have been complaints about changes to YouTube's monetization and search optimization, and Youtube is very fussy now about being corporate friendly to the max...

I think twitter has played into this also. I follow a few ASMRtists on there so I also see tweets they interact with and many seem to encourage each other to post or create OF or Fanhouse accounts to post pics.

I've learned my lesson, I don't have Twitter and I rarely check in on any ASMR creators because it's always a bit of a letdown... patting each other on the back about OF, or dragging their fans/commenters for some slight, real or imagined, or just acting the way that people on Twitter usually do. I get that they're all real people with real flaws and real opinions but y'know, never meet your heros
I have too much to say about OF, but I will add this - for most people it's a scam. The average income on that platform is barely minimum wage. All those clickbait articles about 'Housewife makes 100k per year selling lingerie pics on OF' are the same as 'Man goes to casino, wins one million dollars'

I don't like the new content, makign drinks etc the content of hers I liked was with other people doing massage-type things, what does everyone else think? I wish she would do more with her cats, that asmr massage on her cat with the purring was possibly the most relaxing thing ever!

yeh I agree, I used to really like her, but recently (I cannot remember the context) she posted quite a passive aggressive comment about people not liking her content, and her latest video is just her complaining about her brand deals and how much time editing takes, surely if it is a full time job you expect it takes time? So then get a normal job like the rest of us, if she CHOSE to do this as a full time job she must understand she has to do certain ads etc? I finally unsubscribed. If she didn;t want to do brand deals she shouldn;t have chosen to do this as a job, she also must be making a lot to have 2 managers?

I love her ASMR content, but that's it. As the previous poster said, she's a bit of a hypocrite, always preaching a so called natural and non materialistic lifestyle, but in reality living quite a contradictory lifestyle to what she preaches.
Previously I had mentioned that I like Cheryl ASMR, this last week I've b3really disappointed in her, she always says how she loves asmr and wants to create content to help others but now is using membership/patreon. 90%of her content are live streams, recorded on her phone, but now she's is charging for that. Cheryl is lovely, but is too sporadic and low tech to think her content is worth charging for.

I discovered I really hate mouth noises in ASMR. Whispers Red has wonderful videos, but she's constantly making smacking sounds with her mouth. UGH. I'll just stick to thunderstorms.

I can’t stand whispers red. Nothing about her is appealing and I’ve not gotten any asmr from a single video of hers.
