It would be the best thing for Saf if they split up, I think a lot of her anxiety is to do with Ashley and the way he’s treating her. If he would just comfort her then she wouldn’t feel so bad. She keeps saying they are fine and their relationship is private.

I agree their relationship should be private, no one is expecting full displays of affection. But in candid moments when they are together he looks like he doesn’t want to be near her, you can’t fake that chemistry. And he never speaks of her publicly the way he does others so it all just adds up to their relationship failing in front of millions of peoples eyes and saf coming across as naive. At best she needs to have a word with him on how he publicly shows her up time and time again. On dads story last night she was having dinner with miks, Ashley was sat in the background in another table!

On the podcasts they talk about early signs that they saw but the drs didn’t take any notice, could Ashley possible blame Saf for not doing anything about it? In his head is he thinking they could have saved Azalyia if they had caught it sooner? (I don’t agree that this is the case but I’m wondering if that is why he is so cold with her).

I’ve been following this thread and their story. I genuinely believe they’ve split up but don’t want to admit it. I can kind of see both sides, Saf is clearly someone who needs nurturing and looking after in all this and I wish she had friends rallying around her, ash is the opposite, clearly his way of dealing with it is to do everything he can to keep his mind occupied so he doesn’t have time to think about what he has gone through. I’m very much like ash when I went through hell I just wanted to take myself away from the situation, I wouldn’t allow my partner to support me and to be honest I didn’t want to offer him support because it just reminded me of what we we’re going through. I hope Saf gets some support soon

My friend died of cancer age 19 she had a newborn baby . For weeks she went to the doctors with a sore throat they gave multiple lots of antibiotics . She went back for two months and when they finally did tests they told her it was throat cancer and she was riddled from head to toe she died a month later . Since that day I’ve never trusted doctors .

I thought this too.. when i watched the happy baby podcast yesterday they were talking about symptoms azaylia had & Ash looked pissed! I think its the grief cycle though isnt it. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression & acceptance. Azaylia hasnt been gone long. I think he’s half denying it half anger. Denying it in termsof burying it, like taking his mind off it by keeping constantly busy, anger because like everyone whos experienced cancers there is always the what ifs. What if we got seen earlier, what if we went straight to the hospital & demanded tests instead of feeling fobbed off by the GP. its all hindsight tho isnt it.

my uncle had cancer too. Kept telling him it was stomach ulcers, constipation, etc. One day he couldn’t take the pain anymore & went to hospital. They rushed him down for emergency surgery and was diagnosed with bowel cancer. He died 7 years ago. But it does make you think, if they just tested for the more serious stuff first to rule it out, surely that makes more sense?!

So sorry for your loss, it just scares me how common cancer is but I know with myself I just always think it’s something that you read or hear about like it’ll never happen to me. Four years ago I had CIN3 cells found in a routine smear and that scared the crap out of me. It’s all too common. I even hate anytime I take any of my kids to the doctors which to be fair isn’t often at all but even over the phone they’ll say it’s viral. To be fair everytime it has been viral but I just feel like I’d take them down with their head hanging off their shoulders and they’d say it’s viral 🤦🏻‍♀️ hopefully I never have to pester doctors for a proper diagnosis 🥺🙏🏼

I am so sorry to hear this. I completely agree. I don't wish to derail the thread or get into a debate about the NHS but I live in country now which is all privatised healthcare, I am fortunate enough to have a good policy but the doctors here will seriously do anything you ask so long as it is paid for. For example, my daughter was showing signs of having an allergy which was brushed off in the UK when we were visiting our family (I still pay my national insurance in the UK for pension purposes so was eligible to use), they said it was baby acne, when we returned to Dubai I insisted on stool samples and a blood test and it turned out she did have the allergy I suspected. I understand that the NHS is overwhelmed but I am hearing these stories all to often and it breaks my heart that that poor baby Azaylia was hurting and they told them it was colic. I know he is being a bit of a fool but Ashley is right in what he is saying, you know your children better than anybody so if you believe they truly are unwell, fight for that diagnosis. I suppose that goes for everybody not just your children.

Just a thought, They’re trying to sell merch of Azaylia for donations to the charity. I think more people would definitely buy it if maybe the photo of Azaylia/half lion was OUR children and half a lion 🦁 with at the bottom something like “Thank you for supporting the Azaylia foundation” when you buy one. Why can’t they get someone to set up a little business doing that? That would bring the donations in. So many of us are just super uncomfortable with having pictures of a strangers child in our homes, it’s not normal.

Ashley has always been super self obsessed and arrogant! Unfortunately even the loss of his darling daughter can’t and won’t change that. It’s a wonder Saf was ever with him in the first place

I know it’s been said before but I don’t think I can ever understand these people who have created Azaylia dedicated pages and continue to post photos of her. Like these people have seen these photos, saved them to their phones, written captions and hashtags to upload them with. I just don’t get it. There’s raising awareness of childhood cancer and then there’s this.

Has anyone seen this account? I just came across it and found it really disturbing. It’s quite clearly a grown woman behind it pretending to be her daughter who looks about 9 years old. She takes her to Azaylia’s grave to read stories and films her/takes photos.

Isn’t that their neighbour, she’s a sweet young girl who actually knows them rather than one of the creepy grief thieves?

I’m only a parent to a baby/toddler so (thankfully) haven’t had to make difficult parenting calls like this, but I can’t help but wonder if a weekly visit to a baby’s grave is the healthiest thing for a young girl to be doing? Like definitely discuss what happened, how she feels about it, what life/death means, process emotions through art or activities but I don’t think spending time there and documenting it all etc is necessarily the best for that child’s emotional development and recovery long term? :/

He doesn’t look like a man who has cycled nearly 1000 miles I can tell you that 🤔 I’ve seen people cycle that distance and they don’t look like him.
