Covid is a virus it’s endemic you can’t stop it spreading no matter what measures are in place,it’s constantly evolving ,is my point.
Right, but scroll back through my posts and find where I said that masks or any other restrictions will STOP a pandemic. At no point have I said that mask wearing or any other restrictions will stop the spread of any illness. I have repeatedly used the word reduce. The whole point of reducing the number of people infected with covid (particularly at the start of the pandemic) was to avoid the collapse of the healthcare system.
You’re arguing against a point which I haven’t made.

The point the CTs seem to (wilfully?) miss is that the reason all these measures like lock downs and masks had to be put into place for Covid, is because this was a completely new virus that vast numbers of people were exposed to, all at the same time.

Measures like that don’t need to be brought in for colds or existing illnesses which many already have some immunity to.
Yep and many of them said things would never go back to normal, as they thought the lockdowns and restrictions were a way of introducing permanent control of citizens. Turned out not to be the case, though…

Maybe Monga your thought processes re: masks not working or whatever would be better suited on the Covid disease thread? Or the vaccine thread? It's not for any one of us to moderate content but as Purr mentioned on the other thread earlier today, it's worth sticking to our own threads otherwise pointless arguments ensue and we don't want these threads closed down. You're unlikely to change anyone's mind on this particular thread so likely wasting your energy.

They don’t reduce it ,only infection/ immunity reduces illness, hospitals are in a worse situation now than they were 3 yrs ago, people are literally dying in the corridors, we’re only seeing the collapse of the health system now.

I personally don’t mind the crossing over of threads tbh, as long as people are polite and respectful (which I believe Monga has been), then we can have a discussion about our different views 😁.
Like as long as there’s no slinging of insults between either side, I don’t think it’d get the thread banned.

I’ll post where I like ,thanks for your concern 👍🏻 unless you have moderator under your avatar I won’t be taking your advice.
I’m not here to change anyone’s mind I think we’re all big and ugly enough ( as my granny used to say) to make our own decisions and learn by our mistakes.

The reason people are dying in corridors is because vast numbers of people who themselves need the NHS kept on and on voting the Tories in.

How does infection/immunity reduce the number of infected people at a given moment?
Do you not think that the reason the healthcare system is collapsing is because of the horrendous government cuts to the NHS over the past 10 years? Where I live there are not the same problems because we have a socialist government and well funded public health system.

exactly this ^^ the social care in general has been underfunded and understaffed for far too long. It was running at crisis point before the pandemic.

The point of reduction was to try and stop the NHS from being overwhelmed as we’re seeing it’s failed miserably, I thought the end goal was to get the virus to a point where we lived with it not try and hold it back.

But do you think that in the UK (I’m assuming you live there) things are not currently at a point where you’re ‘living with the virus’?
There aren’t still any restrictions on where you can go or how many people you can meet up with are there? No mandatory mask wearing?

But we are at that point, now aren’t we? Everything is pretty much back to normal. My daughter even forgot how during the lockdowns, even the play parks were shut.

The NHS is failing because that was the Conservative agenda from the moment that Cameron and Osborne etc got in. That is their brand of politics - it always has been. I had a baby at the end of 2019, just before the pandemic started and I could not believe how bad my care in the hospital was, compared with my previous child, born in 2009.

The Conservatives don’t care about anyone who has to use any kind of public service. They have cut and cut and cut and cut. It’s far worse, even than the Thatcher years.

Didn’t the scientists take their pay 💰 and drive off into the sunset 😂 but we’re still left with the legacy that straying from the narrative is wrong.
Healthcare workers in full PPE are the most infected group in the world yet you think a cloth mask is going to stop spread.
I think an FFP2/FFP3 quality respirator will help reduce cases. I’m not really sure what your point is with Boris, he is a lazy, self serving idiot who couldn’t be bothered to attend COBRA meetings regarding COVID-19 in early 2020. He isn’t scientifically literate, seemingly couldn’t grasp the meaning behind exponential spread and also famously stated many of us would die before our time and that he was happy to “let the bodies pile high”.

Yes ,to a degree ! but that can change at any time, the gov have gaslit the public throughout the pandemic blaming those reluctant to take the vaccines as the reason the NHS is in the state it’s in and people fell for it and are still falling for it .

And the scientists stood at each side of him in agreement 👍🏻

Well they aren’t in agreement (other than Harries) if they were encouraging mask wearing and he couldn’t be bothered! I have big issues with them too but on this they really seemed exasperated by him.

Yes but you could say that about anything really, we cannot predict future pandemics.
Well, do you think that was probably one of the tory government tactics in order to shift the blame for the state of the NHS away from them and onto the general population?
I remember before the pandemic they were blaming the state of the NHS on immigrants and the EU 😂. It’s a typical tory tactic!

Of course I do, it went from anti-vaxx to old people to pregnant women and then youngsters now it’s the immigrants…That’s how wars are started , turn man against his fellow man 😂

Absolutely, it’s all just a tactic to divide us really. The only people to be blamed for the state of the NHS are the ones running it.
