😂 HSL and also StockholmTunnelbana is better than some places hotels!
Although, tbh, on trips to the UK I've also never had a problem with anything and was quite impressed with the trains between London and Cambridge.
Yes I agree, London is grand TBF when it comes to the getting the tube - I've only ever stopped in Stockholm but must visit the city in itself someday 🫡

Maybe I'm too amazed being an aul Oirish person when I travel abroad and I sees a metro?!

Ooooh hello to this lovely thread!

So for me it's got to be NDH genre (and yes, I know some purists say it's not technically metal) - Rammstein, Eisbrecher, Stahlmann, Schwarzer Engel, maybe even a bit of Heldmaschine here and there. ETA Maerzfeld are awesome and I only just discovered them

For running and working out it's power metal all the way - I love history themed stuff like Sabaton, Serenity, Judicator, WarKings. Maybe some Powerwolf if I'm feeling a bit silly :)

I do also like some atmospheric BM and funeral doom stuff - Bell Witch, Mournful Congregation, Elderwind. I was listening a lot to Drudkh in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine to show Ukrainian musicians support. But then I realized they were a bit Nazi-adjacent and I stopped. I used to love Emperor, but in general with any black metal I always do a thorough sanity check on them first because a lot of initially promising sounding black metal bands have Nazi sympathies. They tend to sign to certain record labels tho, so easy to avoid them.

So glad I saw W.A.S.P. tonight especially when they're one of my favourite metal bands from the 70s/80s along with Priest and Accept 😄 I'm happy knowing I got to hear Blind In Texas and their cover of The Real Me live

Was anyone else victorious in getting tickets for SOAD?
No, I didn't bother. I like them, but not enough for the £££ for the tickets plus accommodation and travel. Prices were pretty high from what I've read online? I can't imagine seeing them in a stadium either, they don't strike me as a stadium band.

Been re-living my misspent youth recently & playing my Iron Maiden, much to my wife & the dog's annoyance 😁
This is a tremendous performance, Bruce is in top form here (the whole band were)

I'd love to see them, I've not seen them before. But I just cannot be arsed for stadium gigs anymore. SO expensive, such a hassle to get there and back. And you just don't get a decent view at all. If you're lucky you might get a good view of a screen but at that point I feel like I might as well watch it on YouTube later on for free 🤷‍♂️

The last stadium gig I went to was Rammstein about 2 or 3 years ago but I never even saw the band. I caught one very vague millisecond view of Tills head when I stretched up on my tip toes as high as I could while balancing myself on my boyfriends shoulder. But that was it, the rest was just the back of the crowds heads, I didn't see the point after that 🤷‍♂️

Arena or local dive gigs all the way for me!

^ This made me think about how I wanted to see Gorillaz (yes non-metal) as I loved them when I was younger but for some reason I couldn't hack paying €90 for a standing ticket, especially since the tickets went up by over €20 since they last played here three years ago literally in the same venue 😬

Yeah giving that a miss. First saw them when they were unknown and supported Sepultura in London back in the 90s I think

If anyone has a Blue Light Card and is near Birmingham, there are free Parkway Drive tickets to be had for tomorrow.

I’m so glad that Ghost did not get announced, because I don’t have a ticket and I would have walked into traffic if they headlined with a festival hits show 🤣🤣

Me too.
I’ve given up Download and I’d rather see Ghost on their own show.
