There is some speculation that their gig in Dublin last night was their last ever gig. I've seen a couple of articles but nothing has been confirmed....yet.
Could last night's Arctic Monkeys gig in Dublin be the last ever for the band?
Playing to a packed out 3Arena on the evening of Thursday 19 October, the Arctic Monkeys ended their entire world tour right here in Ireland.

I'll believe it when it's actually announced, otherwise I'd take it with a pinch of salt. My dad always describes Alex Turner as having 'itchy arse syndrome' because every time AM take a break, he's always been doing something else instead of just sitting still (e.g. TLSP, Submarine soundtrack, collaborating or producing stuff, on top of writing another Monkeys album). So if even AM did take a hiatus, I feel like he'd probably still be off doing something - whether that's music or it's something like directing or scoring a film.

Haha! I agree the article I linked to is pure speculation. Just thought it was interesting that a couple of articles speculating they might be about to split were posted on the same day as the comment in the other thread which came from a different source entirely - and not one of those online articles.
I’m really intrigued to see what happens. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do split, the last album wasn’t great imo. They didn’t seem particularly interested when I saw them back in June compared to when I had seen them back in 2018.
