Does anyone have any Tea on Alex Turner? Last year on Twitter I saw some allegations but they seemed to disappear.
I’m a super huge massive fan but always felt something is off with him. My other half wants a tattoo of him or something to do with AM and I’ve told him to hold off, I have bad vibes.

ETA: these are some tweets I’ve found but I’m sure there were different ones I saw, saying pretty much the same thing.
Always thought there was something darker about Alex and Alexandra S’s relationship.

An anonymous account tweeting something about Alex getting in touch with her when she was underage or something, I can’t find any trace of them now but I remember being shocked because Alex famously doesn’t have any social media.

haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. He is a god in this household!

He can come across a bit surly in interviews at times (though I often think he's just a bit reserved or takes a bit of time to warm to people), but I've never heard anything untoward about him, nor have I ever really gotten 'bad vibes.' If anything, he seems to be a serial monogamist, although I'm sure that like the rest of them (rock stars) whatever happens on tour, stays on tour. I could be totally wrong, of course, because apart from the fact that I think he's a pretty superb lyricist, I don't really know all that much about him. However, I wouldn't really pay much mind to a few anonymous tweets.*

Interested to hear why you feel something is off with him @trollinhell You could be totally right for all I know! Is it just how he sometimes comes across in interviews etc?

@Shutterbug99 i couldn’t agree more, his lyrics are some of the best, if not the best of this time. How he tells his stories in songs is just perfect and TBH&C cemented him as an absolute genius. I could talk about Arctic Monkeys all day every day if I could.

If I’m honest, it was the tweets I first saw that initially sparked it. Then I’ve seen a couple of comments here on the celeb goss thread eluding to him liking young school girls. I am an overthinker of epic proportions so I put 2 + 2 together and made 7. That’s why I made this thread to see if it was me being suspicious or not.

There was that god awful interview with miles being suggestive during TLSP last album but Alex seemed to come off pretty fine in that.

I just think that modern indie music is awaiting this massive huge #metoo moment. I saw allegations circling about Ezra Koenig a few weeks ago too, which were pretty bleeping damning.

I think the general consensus are that these are a load of bullshit. I think they were very much disproven at the time. I know its so hard to know what to make of allegations because often, women don't have concrete proof and that's why evil people aren't convicted but a tumblr post like that just seems like absolutely the wrong way to go about reporting a predator (I don't even know what the right way would be without coming off like I'm victim shaming). Arctic Monkeys are my absolute favourite ever band so I really hope nothing actually comes out in the future. Alex is a bit of a 'rockstar' in interviews so its hard to know the real him. I think they're fed up of fans always demanding that they make a certain type of music and that's why they try to come off as more mature as a band compared to when they were writing songs about nights out. Not sure how much truth there is to Alex liking young girls - his girlfriends that we know of have always been of age and I feel like someone might've said something by now rather than just a random tumblr post. I know this is an Alex thread but I was watching a podcast where Matt Helders was the guest the other week and he seems absolutely lovely and a gentle soul (and fit af). I've wanted to start an AM rave thread for a while but I hope nothing dodgy comes out about them. What's everyone's favourite album/song?

I love Matt, I follow him on Instagram and he seems so lovely - always posting photos of his daughter . I ordered myself some of those limited edition T-shirt’s Matt designed last week too.
Did you hear the album he did with Joe Carnall from Milburn, Good Cop Bad Cop? That seemed to come out with no hype or interest but it’s a fantastic album. Saw joe performing it live without Matt, there was about 30 people there.

Favourite song has to be cornerstone for me, a cliche generic response maybe but oh my goodness it still gives me chills everywhere. Album is depending on what mood I’m in, Humbug or TBH&C. I couldn’t understand when people didn’t like it when it was released, it’s a masterpiece

I met him 2 years ago (would upload a picture but don’t wanna out myself) at a social event and he was an utter twerp, absolutely off his rocker on whatever it was he takes, defo not alcohol. Eyes rolling into back of head. It wasn’t even that kind of party. It was quite chilled. He was rude to some fans who asked for pictures. I’m a huge fan and that hasn’t changed but just my 2p worth as I never hear much about him!

Don’t wanna derail the thread but haven’t thought much to Matt since his divorce, his ex wife made it clear he was steering it and her mum and dad had just died really closely together so I always felt awful for her.

@trollinhell Those tweets you posted are talking about an abusive relationship between Alex & Alexandra Savior as if it's a fact and proof he's a wrong 'un- but I am pretty sure she was talking about the record execs at her old record label when she talked about that! As I said, I don't have any tea, but I'll be watching this thread to see if anyone stops by to spill!

@Shutterbug99 isnt Alexandra just so magical. I adore her. I was so so so very lucky, my best friend got me a painting she did for my 30th birthday and I have never treasured something as much as that painting.

Alexandra herself has said something in the past about not making music with Alex again. She did a Q&A session last year on her insta and was very vocal that Belladonna of sadness is her album and not Alex’s. On the other hand she did a song with Cameron Avery last year and CA is TLSP touring bassist and close with Alex so maybe there isn’t any bad blood

I worked with someone who saw Alex at a club once - she said he was the most 'off his head' person she's ever seen on a night out

Alexandra herself has said something in the past about not making music with Alex again. She did a Q&A session last year on her insta and was very vocal that Belladonna of sadness is her album and not Alex’s. On the other hand she did a song with Cameron Avery last year and CA is TLSP touring bassist and close with Alex so maybe there isn’t any bad blood

My friend is a huge Alexandra and AM fan and from what she's told me, I think she's a bit fed up of Alex always getting the credit for music that's hers. Obviously he's gonna be mentioned when you have such an amazing artist collaborating with you but I think critics and even fans often forget that its not Alex Turner solo stuff, its Alexandra's. I hope nothing weird went down between them as they were good collaborators.

Everything you’ve come to expect is probably my favourite album of all time, even thinking about it I get butterflies. I would love a new TLSP over an arctic monkeys album. Alex and Miles together are just pureeee magic

I’ve had to put it on now I’ve thought about it. Loved age of the understatement too and remember being so excited about it. Remember I brought a lad I fancied the absolute arse off the Vinyl of Age of the Understatement and he never got me anything back, still think of messaging him for it now

I adore Alexandra! I think she came very close to quitting music altogether when she got dropped from her label - and I'm so glad she didn't. I've never gotten the impression there was bad blood between her and Alex - just that she wanted to do her own stuff musically? Then again, I don't know all that much about their private lives and I've never really read up on what happened there.

Everything You've Come to Expect is one of my favourite albums. Love that sound!

As for Arctic Monkeys, I have a lot of songs I like/love, but Cornerstone is my standout favourite. I couldn't stop listening to that song when I first heard it. It's a little bit of magic!

Ha! I always wished they'd get back together (always thought they would!) but they didn't. They said at the time they split due to their hectic schedules, and while I've always wondered if that was the full story, Alexa used to say he was her best friend even after they split, so maybe there wasn't any more to it than that. Anybody have anything else??
