So seeing as she's set herself up as some know all expert..here's the aff link to my book because I know you are all going to ask...how does she not know all of this ? Its actually really shocking and irresponsible and soo damaging what she is doing.

The 'link to the book' thing is so irresponsible. She's neither a doctor nor a psychologist.
Just a money grabber on a power trip.

I think it’s veering onto irresponsible here. I downloaded BEAT’s Media Guidelines for discussing eating disorders (if you work for any mental health company or charity in an official capacity you have to read this and stick to it religiously as their messaging needs to be incredibly careful, because you know, they don’t want to endanger people)
It’s interesting, going to cite some examples of things they advise.
“Please avoid: Using images of emancipation, empty plates, scales, measuring tapes, or any other stereotypical image representing mental illness. Eg, photos of people with eating disorders at their lowest weight”
“List where readers/viewers can get help. Eg, Contact BEAT on ….”
“Social media is unlikely to be the sole and direct cause of eating disorders, although for some people certain social media content can be an exacerbating factor”
“Someone’s weight, or how much they lost or gained, is not relevant to raising awareness or understanding. Eating disorders are about so much more than weight”

By the way, that’s on the first 5 pages of a 16 page document. That takes 2 minutes to access. And is free.

There’s no excuse for her to carry on like this, it’s frightening to think of what this might be doing for her followers
thank you for this. i was actually planning to check Beat's media guidelines, because i am fully aware that they specifically request that the media do not use emaciated images when publishing stories about eating disorders - in the same way that they encourage the media not to share numbers, like lowest weights/bmi. not only can it be incredibly triggering, it's all for sensationalist value and is incredibly detrimental in terms of perpetuating the stigma surrounding the illness. it's such a massive misconception that you have to be underweight to suffer from an eating disorder - and this is only perpetuated, amongst other damaging stereotypes, when the media focuses on sharing images of emaciated young girls - because in actuality, only 6% of eating disorder sufferers are ever underweight.

Alex is fully aware of all of this, in the same way that she is fully aware that low weight photos are damaging - because she has previously stated that she found such imagery triggering in the past - yet not only is she intentionally triggering her followers, she is also happily contributing to perpetuating the stigma surrounding the illness - which is nothing to be proud of. she may be struggling, but that is no reason to be so intent on dragging other people down with her - especially an audience she has built on the basis of promoting body confidence, who have supported her and trust her platform as a non-triggering, safe space.

her behaviour is absolutely irresponsible and unforgivable - and it is genuinely scary to think how many people are being placed at risk as a direct result of the content she's posting - worse is the fact that she reads here, and is fully aware of our concerns, yet is choosing to purposefully ignore. because proving a point is obviously far more important than the safety and wellbeing of her vulnerable audience.

She's blocking anyone who doesn't agree with her and tries to just give her gentle advice about what she's doing isn't she?
My sister has always been a huge fan of hers, and weirdly, had messaged her a few times to say she's agreed/loved things Alex has said, but no response. Although I don't necessarily agree with my sister (she's younger than I and quite 'influenced') she's an incredibly fragile person who does love social media.
It seems she messaged Alex about her recent stories and got a generic 'manage your own triggers' response.
Which, I think, is the reponse she gave to someone else on here.

So Alex. duck you. You bleeping conning bleep.

I noticed on her stories yesterday that she was wearing the Prada denim jacket that she begged for last week. Someone obviously took the bait 🎣🥴

show off....or conceal her body. all she wears recently is super baggy, oversized, long sleeved clothes - including hoodies and jackets all entirely inappropriate in the midst of a heatwave. she must be absolutely sweltering and uncomfortable, which just shows how insecure she feels about her body. which, in itself, isn't an issue. it's her own problem to acknowledge and deal with - but at least be honest and remove "body confidence" from your bio when you are not promoting body confidence - especially as she's reached a point where she is actually promoting eating disorders. 🤷🏻‍♂️

SHE DOESNT CARE!! She doesn’t give a shot about her followers apart from when she wants them to but her stuff, she is tapping into this body pos stuff as it seems to work for her, it could be promoting bloody German cheese if she thought it would give her a following and make her money. She obviously wishes she was still thin, and as a previous poster said, if she can’t be thin then she is just gonna make sure nobody else is. She is a liar and a very sneaky one at that.

I'm sorry but what is that red velvet dress and white shoes combo?!

Apart from the fact it was a summer wedding and it was 36 degrees in the south yesterday !
And the unnecessary boob comment?!

Surely she knows milkmaid style dresses are booby ?!

Nothing like inappropriate attention seeking on someone else's special day hey Al!

Why does she bother with all this “body positivity” nonsense when she’s arranged her body oh so carefully into that flattering pose for a photo? 🙄

spot the difference...! 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

and obvs she can't resist a subtle brag about how her dress was "really spenny" immediately after buying that prada denim jacket.

If you click through to some of the links the products have awful reviews too, and they're not very size inclusive!
And then proceeds to affiliate link the dress she doesn't like and 4 others she hasn't bought ! It's really horrible grabby behaviour!

I am glad I am not the only one who has grown to dislike Alex. Like most of you, I found her in the pandemic and her content was so helpful and relatable, now she just turns out the same old rubbish. She also hops on bandwagons too get trending content (remember when she volunteered packing boxes for Ukrainian refugees - she never spoke about that again.) The podcast was the final straw for me, the unrecognised white privilege and mainly having white influencers as guests - it’s so boring and such an echo chamber.

totally aimed at tattle! 🤣

in other words, it's totally fine for Alex to talk about her weight loss and share endless photos of her at a low weight - but absolutely nobody else has the right to mention that her behaviour is totally inappropriate and that she is placing people at risk with her triggering photos, and also that she's obviously relapsing and unhappy with her body hence the constant oversized, baggy clothes and long sleeves in the midst of a heatwave to both conceal her weight loss and her body because she is currently very uncomfortable with her weight - which is why she's spending so much time looking back at old photos and searching out "thinspo" imagery of underweight celebs in the 90s, justified by supposedly promoting body confidence and reassuring people that it's okay to gain weight and that thinness doesn't equal happiness. she's only trying to convince herself, while simultaneously bragging hypocritical about having to buy smaller sized trousers. but ofc, nobody is entitled to share their opinions, except Alex herself. she doesn't want to hear anyone else's opinions, so she's simply going to ignore any concerns that are raised, and continue trying to drag everyone down with her - and sadly, she seems very proud of that.

equally though, i believe that we are all entitled to our own opinions about her behaviour and what we will tolerate, in terms of irresponsible decision to place her vulnerable followers at risk sharing pro Ana. content on such a large platform which supposedly promotes "body confidence" platform - thus i will continue to report her posts, because i find her behaviour both deceitful and intolerable. 👌🏻

Alex would do well to follow through and
leave then, or at least take a break. The problem influencers have when they go on and on about their “boundaries” is that they’re never going to leave because it’s too lucrative. They sold their soul to the social media devil and are too hooked on the easy cash to put their mental and physical health first, let alone anyone else’s.

It’s easier to lash out and blame everyone/anyone else than it is to consider why this is happening. The reason she’s been so wound up lately and lashing out is because she’s not in control any more, the money/consumption is driving it all.

The bonkers thing is there is a lot of genuine concern for her, as well as frustration and anger for how she is treating her audience, granted, but it’s not like it’s not without good reason?

Those lecturing reel things she does are beyond annoying. She has the most irritating voice and her acting is tit! As always an important message losing its meaning because she has to put herself centre stage!

And her post wearing her denim jacket ( in 33 degrees 🙄) with the button emblazoned with Prada showing...just why ? People are struggling to find money for bills and this privileged twit is showing off in this manner....I've completely lost all respect for her, her behaviour is shallow and really unpleasant.

it was only a few weeks ago she was whinging about that prada jacket and how she didn't buy it originally because although she loved it, it was so "spenny", and how she regretted it and was trying to find one now they were out of stock - obvs hoping that prada would jump at the opportunity to gift her a free one. 😡

then, hours later, she was complaining that she could only find one that couldn't be shipped to the UK and was having a crisis about what to do - again, obviously hoping that one of her followers would interveneo and offer to have it delivered to them and then repackage and post it on to her - which she could have politely requested as a favour and been direct about it, rather than dropping hints and feigning that ditzy blonde "oh, i just don't know how to cope with such a dilemma" personality, and making it into a huge drama.

a few days later, she was filming stories wearing the jacket, in 35° heat ofc. total unsubtle brag. Alex wants something, she gets it - no matter how expensive. and completely insensitive and thoughtless to be bragging about how she easily afforded to spend £1,500 on a jacket, along with all the other clothes etc that she buys - despite the current financial climate with people struggling to avoid the very basics and feed their families etc - yet she can't seem to resist flaunting her wealth. it's just gross.

She's both the queen of 'white privilege' and 'first world problems' all rolled into one irritating package.
