It's the same with everything she does, other people's words , thoughts, experiences all cobbled together with her claiming them as her own and her taking centre stage because ultimately its all about her and this odd need for validation and attention from strangers online which is clearly lacking in her personal life.Late to the book discussion but I stumbled across Alex after my friend (who seems a big fan) asked me to buy a copy of her book for her as she lives abroad. I had a flick through after it arrived and I was pretty surprised she’d managed to get that published. Lots of ideas that have been talked about/common knowledge for years - the media makes you feel bad about your body and comparing yourself to others makes you feel tit!
She’s so needy, constantly wants him to tell her she’s perfect. Even before sending screen shots of her panicking he doesn’t love her. RidiculousIt's the same with everything she does, other people's words , thoughts, experiences all cobbled together with her claiming them as her own and her taking centre stage because ultimately its all about her and this odd need for validation and attention from strangers online which is clearly lacking in her personal life.
Her relationship with Dull 'I know I'm being filmed but I'll just carry on pretending otherwise ' Dave is like a parent child, she very obviously irritates him but he bizarrely puts up with and enables the ditzy silly me blonde act that has become her default setting .. day to day she must be exhausting to be around.
The video of her crying because she wants attention hung over was unreal to me, like I couldn’t be with someone that needyShe’s so needy, constantly wants him to tell her she’s perfect. Even before sending screen shots of her panicking he doesn’t love her. Ridiculous
This is totally on point. She takes no responsibility for setting appropriate boundaries (i.e. asking for what she wants to receive from people) and then gets angry when well-meaning members of her online community share experiences with her. I have always thought it’s weird when people overshare with influencers and form parasocial relationships with them but I can see how her question invited those responses from people inclined to engage in that way.I've never listened to Alex's podcast with Em Clarkson before, but randomly started to listen to the latest episode - Alex immediately mentioned her withdrawal from anti-depressants and how she keeps having panic attacks - then quickly corrects herself and describes them as anxiety attacks - and tbh, from Em's reaction, it sounds like she's internally rolling her eyes. she genuinely seems to be losing patience with her - which is understandable, especially when she's committed to recording podcasts with her, so can't take a break, despite the obvious change in Alex. although I do wish that - as her friend - she'd take the opportunity to intervene and highlight to Alex how irresponsible her behaviour is, in terms of her in-depth descriptions about medication and regular sharing of pro-ana content.
and ofc, Alex refers to the tantrum she threw when she asked for people's experiences on withdrawal from anti-depressants and wasn't flooded with reassuring, comforting comments, and then became incredibly angry that people had shared the reality of withdrawal, despite her literally asking for people's experiences. she was very clear in explaining that she would never dream of replying to anyone's question in such a way, and would only ever send a positive, reassuring response - even if it wasn't an accurate description of her own experience. so essentially, she would happily lie to people to make them feel better, because that's the response she expects - she didn't want to know the reality or have people be real with her, she just wanted to be metaphorically patted on the head and told that everything would be okay. Em responded by pointing out that she did ask for people's experiences, and that everyone isn't like her - which to me was her way of saying "most people aren't as comfortable lying as you are". ultimately though, if she simpym wanted people to send her positivity and good vibes, she should have specified that - not asked for people's experiences and then been furious when people responded with exactly what she asked for!![]()
I’m considering unfollowing and Nelly London, both have gone so strange and full on since becoming influencers full time. I feel like they should’ve kept their day jobs or gone part time or something.I’ve unfollowed, she’s so chaotic
that end paragraph about judgement though! How can she say no judgement here if someone wants to diet when she’s posted that Emma Thompson reel and is banging on about how diets don’t work, so she clearly is judging people!!
Diet comes from the Greek word diata meaning way of life, and if you choose a sensible approach following a diet can work and you can have sustainable weight loss. There’s a lot I don’t like about diet culture but not everyone diets to be ‘thin’

Am I the only one who doesn’t think she’s looking that slim? She has lost a bit of weight admittedly but I wouldn’t say she looks overly slim. She’s definitely trying to suck her cheeks in and pose so she appears slimmer thoughI’m sorry but what the duck is this outfit
