Glad I eventually got the Salt Beef - just cooked it and it is delicious.
I just bought some today for Sunday's dinner!

My local Aldi doesn’t have the doors for the fridge aisles, I hope they don’t put them in lol 😂 I always avoid shopping there on a Sunday, far too many people dawdling

It's not a big piece, it will do me today and tomorrow but it does taste nice.

That's why I do the weekly big shop on a week day. I'm not setting foot in a supermarket on a Saturday or Sunday if I can help it! 😅

The best thing about Lidl is that their customer service on WhatsApp is helpful and generous, and responsive unlike other supermarkets. I’ve had a couple of money off coupons applied straight to my Lidl Plus account when things have been wrong (out of date purchases etc).

Not Aldi or Lidl related but needed to tell people about these 😂😂

Got mine in Dunnes but I'm sure other places have them..

Nicest crisps I've had in ages....
i‘ve always seen this brand, are the crisps those hard and really crispy ones that’d take your teeth out? 😂

I love the Ballymaloe ones. If I could import them just for me, they'd be demolished. These and Meanies 🤤🤤🤤

So ...finally got some frickles.

I think I had built them up in my head too much. They were okay. Glad I tried. Wouldn't buy again.

The Aldi Indian salad bowl is my favourite at the moment.
Has anyone tried the Korean one ?

The jalapeño cheese bites from Lidl in the frozen section are soooo good. You get actual big slice of jalapeño in each one as well, not just a little mushed up thing.
Although if you have a dodgy stomach like me don’t eat them late at night 😩

Something that’s been frustrating me about Aldi recently…apologies if this has been mentioned before, is their reduced-price sticker system. These items don’t have barcodes, so if you’re using the self-service checkout, you have to remember to flag a staff member to apply the discount. The staff mentioned that this is intentional, because customers often scan items without noticing whether the reduced price has come off. Dirty tactics.

The young lad on the self serve told me that they have the red stickers - 30% or 50% off so it was easier for the reducing staff to just stick the stickers on the packs and the till works it out so it saves staff time doing reductions and they can get on filling the shelves.
But it does make sense they would want you to scan without asking for the reduction. I always put the red stickers together and put them through last so they can do them together.
