I’m off to Aldi today and need someone to have bought all the special buy yarn yesterday - I’ve been crocheting all summer for Christmas fairs and haven’t needed to buy any yarn and my shelves are still full

Who wants to guess how many balls I come back with if there’s some left

It's sold in the Asda pharmacy (?!) - mine has a good range of flavours - and I've seen it in a few corner shops. You can also buy it on eBay and Amazon.

Damn, I forgot about the wool, was too interested in getting the dupe Jagermeister - will have to go early in the morning. Want a few odd balls to finish a crochet blanket I waste my time doing. but like doing it.

There was a crap tonne of wool in my local store. Also some nice pet bits, I picked up a snuffle mat for £3 which my cat is loving.

Octoberfest has started but there doesn’t seem to be any of the beer crisps

I really wish Aldi did yarn all year long because it’s such good value and it’s really good quality. But then I guess that’s the idea of special buys - and there’s foods I wish they did all year long. I actually stopped myself buying something in the middle aisle in case my kids liked it so much but I couldn’t get it again

At long last I finally found frickles! I liked them.

I got some wool and crochet needles. It would probably take me 5 years to crochet a square as I’m all fingers and thumbs. The dog has already stolen the wool once

I spotted frickles in the local Aldi and bought them due to this thread, they were nice, I dipped them in a little bit of mayonnaise.
I also got the Aldi high protein cheese slices that day and omg they are horrible, really dry and chewy and no flavour! The only way I could use up the packet was to make cheese on toast and the slices didn't even really melt just went rubbery.

Something that’s been frustrating me about Aldi recently…apologies if this has been mentioned before, is their reduced-price sticker system. These items don’t have barcodes, so if you’re using the self-service checkout, you have to remember to flag a staff member to apply the discount. The staff mentioned that this is intentional, because customers often scan items without noticing whether the reduced price has come off. Dirty tactics.

Yes, I was caught out with this at Aldi, it really pissed me off. In other shops you can self scan a reduced item - why not Aldi? I think it is deliberate as it benefits Aldi if the customer forgets and inadvertently pays full price
