We really like their chicken flavoured rice. I stock up every few weeks 😀
I was wondering why that particular section was heaving with irritable/addicted people.
It's obviously going to be my new addiction judging by the sound of things. 🙄
In fact I'm surprised I didn't get mugged for my lime and coriander rice now. 😁

Put my shopping on the conveyor belt at Aldi and had my bags in my trolley all spaced and open ready to pack. The girl on the till told me it’s now policy to check all my bags inside and to take them out for her to check my trolley in case I’ve stolen anything 🫠 never had this before. Is it policy or do I look like a thief?

This happend to me in Lidl a few weeks ago, I was quite shocked 😳. The young lad said they're supposed to do it to every customer as its part of the secret shopper thing ( he didn't call it secret shopper he called it something else but I've forgotten now) weather he just said it as he registered the shock on my face at being asked to see inside my empty bags im not sure. Not happend to me in aldi yet.

So before you've packed up your paid for shopping they want to see that your carrier bags don't contain any stolen items?

This was introduced in last year in some shops ...... I take a shopping trolley and always lift it up and show them inside it before I go through the checkout. We had to do it in Spain when we lived there as most people us their own trolley there. I have seen people leave things like nappies and toilet rolls under the bottom of the trolley and walk through but they do check for that in my branch now.
https://themanc.com/shopping/aldi-bag-search-policy/ .......
SHOPPERS are up in arms after Aldi introduced a new self-checkout rule meaning anyone can be searched at the till. The discount supermarket has confirmed that bag checks are being carried out but stressed they are only ever carried out with customers' permission.
---
When I shop in M & S I use the gun type thing then just pay at the self serve and quite a few times the assistant has come up and checked 5 of the items in my bag to make sure they are paid for. I was surprised the first time but now just leave them to it.

Lime and coriander is our absolute favourite! Love it with salmon fillets or Mexican food. I can’t remember if I’ve actually tried the coconut one or not but I definitely will now.

On the topic of having bags checked it happened to us in Lidl because we’d been somewhere else first. We don’t drive so no car to leave things in, had to take other bags of shopping in the store with us. The cashier asked to check through the bag. Also had my bags checked in Sainsbury’s once. I’d used scan and shop so I’d been around the shop scanning all my items and packing them as I went, then gone to the checkout and paid for it and then still had to stand and wait while someone checked through it all. It’s frustrating.

Yes, the cashier asks you to show them inside the empty bags you've brought in to the shop to pack your shopping away into, at the till.

I've never had bags checked in Lidl but tbh it's rare I do a trolley shop in there, it's normally just a basket.

I've never had anyone check my bags; in one of our local Aldis the checkout staff do ask to see the bottom of your trolley under your bags, the other branch doesn't ask anything. So I'm assuming from that it's either manager's discretion or head office direct certain stores with a bigger shoplifting problem to do it.

Our store has been doing that for weeks now. Just after Xmas

Anyone else had these, the cross part of the a werid texture,
Can't remember which my husband had but he said they were odd and the cross came off in one piece when he bit it. All the HC Buns today were still in date but so hard I left them. The only ones that were soft were the cheap ones but couldn't see much fruit in them.
Still no coriander rice so I bought some frozen chopped coriander and some lime juice and I will make my own. :ROFLMAO:

Every time we have been to our local Aldi recently they have asked us to lift our bags iut if the trolley and show they are empty and so is the trolley, they do say 'we have to do it to everyone it's nothing personal'.

Didn't rate the Nutoka Hot Cross Buns, much preferred their luxury ones.

After reading here I took a wander to my local Lidl in the hope of a Bakewell blonde only to find the ticket and an empty shelf 😭

I’ve been asked to show my empty shopping bags for months now. It’s not personal and I bet the cashiers find it awkward.

Beware of the Cheesy ones in M and S - they have such a "fake" taste.
It was the Banoffee HC Buns from Aldi where the cross was came off in one piece and he said it had the texture of cardboard.
